I will be watching today, Kerry, Lieberman, Edwards !
Today is the day to prove to me you have what it takes to lead this country. If I dont see any one of your faces on the floor today working to stop this medicare farce I will Know once and for all that you are not to be trusted with the presidency.

Do your duty today! Stand up on the floor and show the leadership you claim to have. I am tired of having to depend on Senator Byrd for the right thing to be done. He can not do it alone!

Stand up today gentleman! I beg you!

9. My pleasure...
Unfortunately watching it has the feel of watching a train wreck in progress.

Thank god for Harry Reid, Dick Durban, and Robert Byrd. They are fighting the good fight! Byrd brought me to tears allready!

6. Screw the Four Bush Enablers! (Edwards, Gephardt, Kerry, Lieberman)
Edited on Sat Nov-22-03 11:51 AM by IndianaGreen
We have our nominee for 2004 right here: Clark, Dean, Kucinich, Mosley-Braun, Sharpton.

Here is a reminder of what is at stake:

President, House Leadership Agree on Iraq Resolution

President George W. Bush along with bipartisan leaders from the House and Senate announced the Joint Resolution to authorize the use of the United States Armed Forces against Iraq. "The statement of support from the Congress will show to friend and enemy alike the resolve of the United States," President Bush said during the announcement in the Rose Garden, Wednesday, October 2, 2002. 10. Dean Should Be On The Steps Protesting
My hope is that Dean will take time out from the remaining weeks before the primaries to show that he is more than just talk. He should be out on the steps of Congress every time there is a major vote, regardless of whether or not his protest will effect the outcome. I'm tired of these candidates doing nothing but trying to become President. I want someone who will stand up when it counts.

Or at least he should be saving lives on the operating table. How many sick people have died because he neglected his Hypocrytic Oath?

13. This could be a rare moment to show some solidarity among
all the Democratic candidates. Since Kerry and possibly Edwards are skipping the debate in Iowa, I think the others should pull out and have it postponed and go to Washington to do exactly what you suggest.

KERRY and *maybe* EDWARDS, others saying not EDWARDS.

In the meantime, the Alliance for Retired Americans is airing commercials to counter the AARP ones with an 800-# for all senators.

New TV Spots Airing Nationally—The Alliance has launched a new television campaign to educate seniors on the Medicare bill. The ad explains why seniors should urge lawmakers to vote no. Sixty-four percent of seniors oppose the bill because it would increase payments to keep their choice of doctors and hospitals or be forced to switch to an HMO, does nothing to bring down the cost of drugs and leaves seniors with thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket costs.

----------President Bush Addresses Empty Seats—Phoenix, AZ On November 13, about 30 Alliance activists showed up and outnumbered supporters at a sparsely attended event sponsored by Senior Voices for Medicare Choices, a group fronted by insurance companies. The event broadcast President Bush's November 13 remarks from Orlando urging Congress to push through a bill that would privatize Medicare.
