If the dems had all just left after they cast their votes |

there would not have been a quorum, and they could not have "amended" the vote, or could they have?? The original was a 2 vote win.. If they had left it would have stood up... or would it??
It all seems so stupid.. Can you imagine the outcry if they show had been on the other foot??
Do they have to de "dismissed" , or can they just leave when they have voted??

had left after the vote, they might have been able to defeat the referendum to table the re-vote.
I'm sure I could have put that more elegantly, if only I understood it all a little better.
