Trying to make a difference
Edited on Sat Nov-22-03 02:32 PM by rhino91063
Just started a new job this week. I was a lucky one considering the bush recession. To try and help others, I did the following today.

Donations

Democratic Underground- $25
Democratic National Committee- $50
Move On $25 (I figure this will be doubled with Soros)
Take Back the Media $25

This just might be a small token, but maybe with enough small tokens, we can make a difference and more people can get back to work, by getting the commander and thief out of our White House.

2. Take Back the Media
Here is the description from their web site. You may not have heard of them, but you have probably seen some of their videos (the last is a string of bush "bring em on" ones). I donated to the fund to put these ads on TV.

http://www.takebackthemedia.com/about.html

Take Back The Media is a cooperative project by progressive American citizens. We are dismayed at the pro-government, pro-corporate bias shown by American media, and we intend to do something about it. Many American share our views on how the media promotes a pro-war, pro-big corporation agenda, and our numbers are growing every day.

While we do not advocate any violent action against private property or citizens, we do advocate using the Power of The Purse and non-violent action to bring back responsibility to the corporate media.

6. Congratulations on the job!
And kudos to you for your efforts. My fiscal efforts are modest too but I put in great effort in party-building efforts locally.

I so agree with your sentiments, if everyone does little bits here and there we can move mountains!

7. Hey we ALL need to do WHAT EVER
Edited on Sat Nov-22-03 03:29 PM by rhino91063
We can do to stop bush and his neocon thugs. 2004 is critical to our nation, beyond compare. If we allow bush, the neocons and their corporate masters to win then our country is doomed. We need to educate the public. We need to do the job the right wing media has happily neglected. We ALL can do something.

Work for candidates

Right letters to papers and call in radio shows

Give money to candidates, the party and organizations

Give the progressive view at debate and chat sites

Write to media outlets and their sponsors to demand the NEWS be covered.

Remember bush has done the following yet so few know the truth.

1) Is covering up his role in 9/11
2) Lied about WMDs
3) Is setting records in borrow and spend republican practices which will bankrupt this nation just like the USSR
4) Is giving BILLIONS of dollars to his top campaign donors
5) Is stealing billions for Halburton
6) Allowed the California wild fires
7) Is leaving all children behind in his education initiatives
8) Is KILLING our citizens with his increases in air and water pollution

This is just the tip of the iceberg
