Please let us go home for Thanksgiving?

The Repubs are playing this game with the Democrats. We will not get out of here until we act on this legislation. Who has the stamina to outlast the other? Yeah, they both want to get out of town and get home to be with their families for Thanksgiving but this is a strategic move on the part of the Repubs. They think the Democrats are "soft" and will not put the interests of their constituency above their own desire to get home for the holiday. They will fold, they think. But they thought the same with their 40 hr debacle over hte judges? Will the Democrats fight this time or will we have just enough "traitors" from safe districts that will vote to get out of town and their constituency be damned?

I remember a coup that took place in 2000, and one of the most helpful aspects of that coup was when the Dems decided that packing up and going home to have Thanksgiving dinner was more important than counting Al Gore's votes.

So we shall see.
