Bush...he's a decent, honest person...?
I found this in the Arizona Republic today...

any thoughts...?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Liberal Democrats use the same tactics in letter after letter to this newspaper.

George W. Bush will be easy to beat - just look at his record. Let's do that.

First, he's a decent, honest person. He got tax cuts, as he said he would, even to the wealthy who pay the most (and are often small-business owners). He follows through, as in going after the terrorists (and, thank God, does so in their countries, not ours).

I'm most definitely one of the "idiots" (as per (name deleted) letter on Nov. 14) who will vote President Bush right back into office.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think this person got the "idiot" part right...

1. We should spend half our money pointing out his lies.
As much as some say certain Dems lie, Bush lies more and on much bigger things. No one can disagree with me on that.

If we can show what a liar he is, he has nothing to fall back on.

2. Didn't Bush say that the tax cuts were for the MIDDLE CLASS?
That's one of the biggest goddammed lies I've ever heard a President say.

Practically every word out of his mouth is a lie.

There's nothing...nada, zip, zilch, zero...honest about this man.

3. Tom Daschle said the same thing on Fox News
Bush is a good honest man.

If our leaders won't fight, we should we support them?

11. No, he said he will not support a filibuster
which is just as bad. He did say he will personally vote against the bill but he does not favor a filibuster. It has fallen to Kennedy and Kerry to lead the expected democratic filibuster.

4. How many "solo" press conferences has this decent man had?
A decent and honest man would have had more than 9 press conferences by now. His father had 61 at this point in his adminstration and Bill Clinton, 33. Why don't they care? What is he hiding?

14. By comparison JFK averaged one press conference per 2 weeks
I thought my opinion of whistleass couldn't get any worse but after watching JFK shows on the History channel yesterday I can't bear to even look at shrub anymore.

19. Yep. What a contrast!
after watching JFK shows on the History channel yesterday I can't bear to even look at shrub anymore

I was remembering when Camelot came to the White House also, and seeing ShRubbish and his dowdy wife trying to "look natural" in the company of the Queen and maybe hoping some of the royalty might rub off on themselves only made me feel worse. America has lost its own "royalty" and sadly we have replaced it with the Beverly Hillbillies.

7. According to Paul Begala, he's a "great guy"
He even had to spew this crap again on Crossfire last week.

Then again, he's also said that Tim McVeigh and Adolf Hitler were both atheists, when they were actually the same religion as him.

If enough people keep repeating the word "integrity" without being challenged, it continues to be believed.

12. Effective PR campaign by the RW.
Bush Public Relations department says Bush is a good man, and who would step up to say no.

The Right Wing cannot say that Bush had no information about 9/11 before 9/11. They cannot say that Bush has no conflicts of interest.

They can say that he is is a decent, honest person, and suddenly, decent means he did his best for us surrounding 9/11, and it says he is being truthful about Iraq and terrorism; someone might step up and say wait if they said these things: he has not been forthcoming about 9/11, he has not been factual about Iraq.

Instead, decent and honest, pass the cameras unchallenged, and remain in the half-scared to death, half-informed, halved attention-spanned public who desperately pine for some uncontroversial anchor thought to believe.

16. Very effective. It needs to be challenged.
Some group should do an ad campaign focusing on some of Bush's ugliest behavior. Such a campaign should not target the rational reasons to oppose Bush but instead be designed to challenge the naive beliefs of his supporters, and more importantly, create a negative impression among people leaning towards suporting Bush. It should describe more than one instance of ugly behavior so that there are multiple opportunities to catch the White House lying in response to the ads.

I think an ad describing these three items would be effective:
1. The Bush campaign spreading the rumor during the South Carolina primary that John McCain had a black daughter.

2. Bush saying to three Senators in Rice's office 12 months before the invasion of Iraq, " F___ Saddam. we're taking him out."

3. How many times Bush used the F word in the interview Bush gave to Talk magazine where he mocked Karla Fay Tucker prior to her execution.

The ads also should include angry pictures of Bush.

17. Good grief!
He got tax cuts, as he said he would, even to the wealthy who pay the most (and are often small-business owners).

A little off topic here, but this statement is amazing! Does this person really think that "the wealthy" are the small business owners?

The wealthy are not the small business owners. Someone needs to educate this person big time.
