The far right has just crossed the line between stupidity and insanity...
Adam Yoshida -- "Opposition to this war places oneself in opposition to the laws of man and God. There has never been an unjust war waged by the United States in all of its history- those who have opposed any American war are damned to hell, unless they have expunged their sins through support of other wars (for example, those who opposed the Mexican War by later supported the Civil War or those who opposed Vietnam, but later supported the Cold War).

Pacifism and Satanism are one and the same. Pacifism is objectively pro-Nazi, pro-Communist, pro-Islamist."

I've read similar rhetoric written over 2/3 of a century ago.

Is there a link for this?

9. Some fascist wing-nut who (poorly) harrasses the left at every chance...
He got his start writeing crappy Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanfics and trying to prove that Japanese are ethnically superiour to Chinese back in the late-90s.

Now he maintains a crappy blog (www.adamyoshida.com), participates in many political simulations (although he usually ends up getting banned), and harrasses Howard Dean's blog at every chance. Supposedly he also hangs out and some UseNet places, but I never use it...lol

Oh..And he took a shit fit because Prince Charles might be bisexual.

16. I find it funny that he chooses Buffy...
I didn't watch the show regularly, but I watched it enough to know that it was hardly a hotbed of reactionary social conservatism, to put it mildly. (Then again, I have tons of Paul Shanklin MP3s that I find pretty funny, even though I disagree with every word he sings.)

It is odd that somebody so completely stupid when it comes to politics would have some decent taste when it comes to TV, though I think the levels of fanatacism are consistant with writing fan fiction and his current blogging style.

"Canada is already damned, for its embrace of homosexuality, among other things. It may have been damned from the beginning due to its French origins."

"Those who take the lives of the enemies of America are doing the work of the Lord and shall be justly rewarded for their efforts."

So he went from Adolf Hitler, to Fred Phelps, to Osama bin Laden in 39 minutes.

That's morbidly impressive.

13. A quote about DU from his blog
Apparently he posts here when he can.

Unpatriotic Underground

"DU is often described as being the left-wing version of Free Republic, a popular conservative web site set up by Jim Robinson, a resident of Fresno, California. However, whereas Free Republic has been branded as a ‘hate group’ by Fresno’s Human Rights Commission and attacked as the “lunatic fringe” in the San Francisco Gate, outside of the conservative press little attention has been paid to the excesses of Democratic Underground."

"DU is run by a man named David Allen, the President of a web design firm known as Online Workshop Design based in Washington, DC. Mr. Allen hold’s a Bachelor’s Degree from Yale and has worked on Senate campaigns in Michigan, Oregon, and Delaware. Information on the site claims that it was founded on January 20, 2001 to protest the inauguration of George W. Bush- but a search of public records reveals that the domain for the site was actually registered on December 5, 2000: six days before Al Gore conceded that year’s disputed Presidential Election.

As of the middle of November, Democratic Underground claimed to have roughly 34,000 ‘registered users.’ The term, however, is deceptive because the total counts individuals who have registered accounts that have been banned from posting on the message boards. For example, this reporter has (by his own count) been banned from posting on DU six times."

21. Oh, it's Adi! Adi's a wonderful creature.
Little Known Fact: Adam Yoshida is Canadian.

No, really. He's not a very good Canadian, in the sense that he's far more enamored of the United States than his native soil, but he's still Canadian. The best way to needle him is to ask, whenever he blathers on about how the United States should smash utterly and without pity any competitors (these being the EU, China - communist or otherwise - and the rest of the planet, in that descending order), when he plans on joining the military.

For my humble efforts in needling Yoshida, which was part of an overall mob action resulting in his being removed from LiveJournal for egregious spamming (throwing Islam delenda est articles into Islamic communities, etc.) I was gifted with the lead pullquote (under one of my pseudonyms) on the top of his blog - though a quick scan shows that he's revised his design scheme to something a little less "blantant amateur" and more "blogger stock design." Bummer.

Hey! Adam! If you're reading this, Malaclypse the Seeker wants his pullquote back!

24. I have read his page a few times...
And it occurred to me--esp his page, but many many others--that RightWing blogging is simply shameless self-promotion largely because it is 'fashionable' these days to provide this type of content for the Machine...

(There are many many number of people at DU and the Left who could in a pinch simply spew tastless, ridiculous unsubstantiated WingNut fantasies--some do...in fact they might be very good at it, as they must learn rightwing arguments as well as their own. Which goes to show that a Left-Wing blog always has to 'cite' or at least be reasonable in it's perceived extremism)

That is why I don't bother with these sites--if you notice they are devoid of any useable information, everything is simply google-searched, and never documented...

I always assumed that these sites are directed to soft 'conservatives' in order to confuse them and 'conquer and divide'

25. Doesn't anyone read freaking history books anymore?
He says "There has never been an unjust war waged by the United States in all of its history", and then goes on in the same sentence to mention the Mexican War without any awareness whatsoever that he's just invalidated his own statement.

Precisely like the war in Iraq, the Mexican War was trumped up by James K. Polk and American expansionists for financial profit, and they did it under the pretext of safeguarding American citizens. Over the next 15 years the fruits of that war came close to wrecking America, and in many ways the repercussions from that war still affect us as a nation to this day (although America didn't crumble and slide into Nazism because of the Polk administration, and the ability of Bush to make it do so now is not a foregone conclusion). Yet how many Americans here or anywhere give a rat's fanny about James K. Polk, William Marcy, the Treaty of Guadeloupe Hidalgo or anything else from that time? Not too many, I reckon.

29. Thank you. This is a matter of learning from history.
The abysmal ignorance of the American people about their own history has led at least half of them to support this doctrine of "preemptive war," a breathtaking hijacking of this nation's ideals by the neo-cons. By the way, Lincoln, in his only term in Congress, vehemently opposed the Mexican War, which Polk claimed was started by the Mexicans crossing our border. Lincoln asked Polk to name the "spot" of such incursion, which brought him some ridicule. He was right.

34. A quote from Laura Davis Sanders, U.S President at U.S. Senate Simulation
She's left of Kucinich, and Yoshidiot basically said that he wants her to die.

"Jack,

A lot of times I've read your stuff and agreed with you on issues you raise, however, Yoshit is not one of those times. I got a PM from him tonight saying he wishes for a Lee Harvey Oswald right now. That follows on the heels of his post to me in the Whitehouse implying he wishes I'd be assassinated. I lack a sense of humor about that kind of crap along with being called a whore or a slut...

This is a GAME. I'd like to be able to enjoy it without threats and personal abuse.

I'd like to urge you to reconsider your decision not to support booting his butt out of here.

Laura"

He's a Protestant of some sort, so why would he give a damn about the Pope's attitude towards the war and the Pope's interpretation of God's law? (Not to say that Yoshidiot's interpretation is better, but I think you're really pushing it.)

BTW, I tell him to go intern himself when he pisses me off. I know it's wrong, but it's just so hard to resist.
