Is Bob Shiffer a Democrat?
I like him. Saw him this morning w/Clark & thought he was very tough.Thought I read in one of his books that he & Dan Rather are good friends & both liberal.I could be wrong, just curious. Trying to figure out if he is just tough on Democrats or just tough with politicans.

1. I don't watch his show often
but he is reputed to be fair. He does have a connection to Bush that I can't recall.

2. Not At All....Just The Contrary...He Was Golfing Buddies With Dubya...
Once in a while he will be somewhat fair, but most of the time, will stand up for Bush. Bush is so incompetent now, it's hard for anyone with a brain to support him.

3. Are you sure about that?
Over these many years, he has always seemed the most fair.

Sometimes in the very last segment of his show, he gives an ediitorial comment. More often than not, they would be what I consider to be moderate to liberal in tone.

4. Not any more.
He is lethal in his attitudes towards Democrats and especially Clinton, imo.

6. When Clark said
something to the effect of "I don't have the exact quote" the camera caught Schieffer looking irritated and angry. The impression was that he can't stand a Democrat who can easily beat Bush. And the female on the interview (gay, gay, gay!) is a Republican shill.

7. About Bob Schieffer
Schieffer is the best of the Sunday morning hosts. Which isn't saying a whole lot I admit, but he strikes me as decent and fair.

I'm sure he makes a few mistakes, but he's one of the few that actually tries to act like a journalist.

I also like him a lot better than the departed David Brinkley. Brinkley was always cynical and negative. Every politician was corrupt, government was useless and silly, etc. Schieffer is much more middle-of-the-road. You don't get that overwhelming cynicism from him.

While the Tiffany Network is no longer quite so illustrious in its news coverage, it's still among the best we've got. Back in the Ted Turner days there was some serious talk about CNN and CBS merging their news operations. Now, given that CNN has essentially collapsed, I think CBS and BBC might want to cooperate on a 24 hour news outlet.

8. Schieffer is a Texan, and has a soft spot for fellow Texans --
who include Dan Rather and, unfortunately, George W. Bush.

But Bob Shefur never mentions this because he is so full of ethics and all other good things. http://melbimc.nomasters.org/news/2003/10/55736.php
