Poll question: Negative or Positive campaigning: which works better?
Is it more effective to bash the other guy (negative) or praise yourself(positive)?

2. Your poll is too generalized.
How do you define "negative campaigning"?

Traditionally, insulting an opponent or belittling his or her accomplishemnts is considered negative campaigning. But I would argue that fuding the truth on one's own record is negative campaigning.

I think any campaign that isn't based on truth is negative. What you're talking about is COMBAT POLITICS. Any candidate that attacks another candidate from a platform of honesty gets my vote. If you believe in calling a spade a spade, then call George W. Bush a corporate whore, AWOL, terrorist, whatever.

That's POSITIVE!
