Colorado Springs Dems will "welcome" Bush...
Edited on Sun Nov-23-03 11:30 PM by kentuck
Here are directions for Coloradoans that might make it....
==============================================================

Monday, November 24

Pikes Peak Justice and Peace-President Bush's Vist

Our plan is to gather along South Academy Blvd at 11 AM beginning at the "B" street exit off Academy (if we're allowed to get that close) and extending eastward toward I-25. Bring signs and/or banners. We will need as many peacekeepers as we can get. Those willing to serve as peacekeepers, please pick up a yellow "peacekeeper sash" near the "B" street exit off of Academy. IT IS ESSENTIALL THAT TRAFFIC NOT BE BLOCKED, THAT OUR DEMONSTRATION IS TOTALLY NONVIOLENT, AND THAT WE STAY OFF THE PAVEMENT

Those coming from the North, exit I-25 at South Academy Blvd (Exit 135) turning right. Pass Pikes Peak Community College on your left and head toward the entrance to Fort Carson. It may be possible to use visitor parking at the Community College campus or to head into the residential area just north of Academy. Parking will be at a premium and carpooling is encouraged.

Those coming from the South, exit I-25 at South Academy Blvd (Exit 135) and turn left. Continue as above.

If we learn anything more about Bush's agenda that would warrant a change in the plans outlined above, we will e-mail any changes by Sunday night. We hope to have a large crowd present. See you there!

3. That is great to hear but...
...being from Colorado, and knowing a littlet about Colorado Springs, I always thought that a Colorado Springs Democrat was an oxymoron

4. Will Marie Be There?
The press loves a good show. I always thought it would be fun to dress up as Marie Antionette and pass out yellow (cup)cakes at a Biff Co protest. A real creative soul could write all sorts of fun things on the top of a cupcake.

Have fun!

Peace,
Teresa

5. Do Something Astounding!
Bush has always controlled his media shots keeping protestors far away while he's preaching to the choir. Let your voices be heard!

8. Right on, I hope that plenty of people will be on either side of the road.
That way he can't simply look the other way, without realizing how hated he is.

Have fun!

6. they'll move you to a 1st amendment zone on circle drive
:) I wish i could be there, but controlling the world is very time consuming these days.

Nonetheless, i wish you the best of luck and i hope the weather is relatively hospitable!

7. Sorry
I'll be stuck in Boulder, making our stockholders happy and cranking out taxable income to build better schools for the Iraqis.
