HEY! same sex couples tell me what you think...
I have been considering the "marriage" issue among same sex couples, which leads me to a husband wife scenario... ok in those regards the lingustic mumbo jumbo gets in the way for obvious reasons...

so, i consider the probability of an alternate binding agreement, as a marriage is... i for now am calling it "familial unity" ...where a ceremony accompanies the agreements of a creation of a union between two people to create a family... as a marriage does, transforming the terms "husband and wife" into "greg and tom" or "linda and trisha".

do you trisha take linda to be lawfully familially united... i do... etc.etc.

hereby looping around the jargon of "those kind of people can't get MARRIED..."

NOW, is it possible to create a law that would allow such a bond between peoples that would follow suit of all the privies of a "marriage" and if so is it possible to unite as well the free thinkers of heterosexuality into the same fold... for i am "married" but a familial unity is truely what i wanted... to be identified as a family... and so i proceeded to consider the possibility of the same train of thought so that those in relationships that do not fit the criteria of conservative thought would have an alternative to creating a legal bond of family...

what do you think... if it can happen, how does a late night thought process turn into a bill on capital hill?

1. My feeling is no.
Simply because anything short of marriage is still discrimination, and all discrimination is wrong.

2. I'm in favor of
making all marriages into civil unions under the law, allowing churches to keep calling it 'marriage', and allowing any two unrelated consenting adults to enter into the legal contract of the civil union.

I personally don't care what it's called, so long as all couples have the same rights under the law.
