BUSH'S UK VISIT: Another REAL Reason? - Analysis
Gang,

What had to have been galling for even the dimmest and most indifferent Americans who bothered to watch even one minute of the orgiastic JFK-Fest on all the major network and cable news outlets this past week, was the inescapable and less-than-life-affirming conclusion about how far we have fallen as a nation.

Bush's trip to England was planned several months in advance, when the "War" was "going well," and Bush's handlers envisioned a huge victory parade in and around London. The Captain has more to say on this particular trip, and the conveeeeenient arrest of Michael Jackson at the start of Bushie's pending PR nightmare, later. But I also have a theory, regardless of how far in advance this trip had been planned...they timed it so Bush would be OUT OF THE COUNTRY during this past week of the much-anticipated media hoopla surrounding the 40th Anniversary of Kennedy's head being blown apart in Dealey Plaza. Captain Mike has a helluva LOT to say on THAT too, later.

But, aside from the timely arrest of Michael Jackson just as the protesters were massing in the streets around Trafalgar Square, I DO think, in a far less sinister - as opposed to just plain practical - PR move, they made sure Bush was NOT AROUND for the week of gushing JFK tributes. I think Karl Rove feared that American's somnambulistic brainwashed view of their stumbling, stammering sock puppet of a President as a "Decisive Leader," and "visionary" and outright "9-11 Hero" would suffer a somewhat lethal blow.

It's been The Captain's contention - and several major psychologist's and political commentators' - that, since 9-11, Americans have been under some sort of all-too-willing media-induced self-hypnosis that has allowed Bush & Co. to continue to get away with the most appalling things, and yet still supposedly poll in numbers above 50%. This sorta thing has been going on for years. I mean look at Reagan, a senile old man that daily told lies to Americans, yet we trusted him, liked him, and were fooled into believing that this doddering old former actor was a "strong leader" and a "visionary." What has been happening in this country reminds me of Albert Brooks' line from BROADCAST NEWS. In context, he's trying to convince Holly Hunter that William Hurt's character, the handsome, bland and appealing Tom, is actually The Devil. "No, when the Devil comes, he won't be OBVIOUS. He'll just slowly, cunningly, and over time, little by little, LOWER OUR STANDARDS!"

Americans have slowly been lulled into this sleep. However, sometimes it can only take one thing, a sight, a sound, a smell, something that will trigger "the patient" to snap out of his sleep after being hypnotized by the psychiatrist, "WAKE NOW!" 9-11 did THAT for me. These guys are masters of psychology and fomenting mass denial. They've succeeded brilliantly, as 2/3 of Americans now think that Saddam's Iraqi's piloted those planes into the Towers.

I honestly think it was Karl Rove's greatest fear, that all it would take would be for millions of TV-addicted "Joe Sixpacks" or "Bubbas" , armed with the remote, and watching any one of those Kennedy tributes, to switch to another channel showing our current Chimp-in-Chief, and be shocked by the juxtaposition. I really believe they were fearful, that with the flicker of a thumb, enough Americans might be jolted, much like the magician's snapping his fingers, into suddenly WAKING UP as to just how AWFUL, MORONIC, SHORT-SIGHTED and EVIL the 43rd President of the United States actually is. Really. We've been conned and lulled and duped by the corporate and White House-controlled mass media into accepting this Bush...THING as our national ideal of what our leader should be.

They've been so cunning at building Bush up, and getting us to EMBRACE this stumblebum, I really think they were fearful that KENNEDY COMPARISONS would damage their little Dauphin's carefully-manipulated image and possibly permanently bring the curtain down. To lift the collective fog from our eyes. "Jesus, THIS is our President NOW?" Or, "(sigh), WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN?"

Think about it. That average American spending what, an average of 20-30 hours a week watching television? 20-30 hours of KENNEDYPALOOZA. Then switching over to watch the day's news. And seeing George W. Bush's smirking, stammering, blinking, deer-in-the-headlights countenance. Pressing that remote. Back and forth. KENNEDY. bush. KENNEDY. bush. KENNEDY. bush. KENNEDY. bush.

This has been the most stage-managed Presidency in US History. This has been the most propagandized leadership in World History, second only to, or perhaps even surpassing that of, Adolf Hitler's.

I know the England trip was planned far in advance. But they wanted this guy not only outta the country THIS PARTICULAR WEEK, but hopefully looking "Statesmanlike" by holding photo ops with the Queen of England, and by comparison, looking manly next to that girlish poodle, Tony Blair.

JFK supposedly read several newspaper each morning BEFORE he had his Cabinet meetings. He had almost perfect total recall of all the news he read. We now have a President who proudly states that he never reads newspapers, that he relies upon his staff to tell him what's going on in the world. Oh, and he also insists that God tells him to do things, like "strike at Saddam, so I did."

This is the President that we Americans have now...

Captain Mike

1. I told my kids
some time ago, if Dubja had been President during the Cuban Missile crisis we wouldn't be in this mess today, we'd be dead.

The irony, at least in the JFK programs that I saw, nowhere was he depicted as perfect. It appears that he probably would have concluded as his brother did, that Vietnam needed a different solution. Also, he really needed some prodding to get going on civil rights. Then there were the "other women".

But still, JFK towers over the Shrub. So you could be right in your hypothesis, Captain.

5. CaptainMidnight? Boy that brings back memories.

Does your screen name have anything to do with a tv si-fi character of the 1950s?

7. actually
got it from a reputed real-life character from the 60's that went around with an eighteen wheeler and a portable transmitter, and hijacked local airwaves all over the country.

Called himself Captain Midnight.

6. A darker Example of Bush Manipulation: Michael Jackson and Plane Crashes
Gang,

This has already been brought up at DU, the speculation of the timing of Jackson's arrest which coincided with British protestors pouring into the streets of London.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE:

One of the GREAT UNEXAMINED STORIES of the Bush Presidency is the eventual postponed date of the "release" of the consortium results or the "Real Recount" of the Florida votes in the 2000 Election.

We all know what happened the first time the results were supposed to be announced. 9-11 happened right before their release, so they postponed it. Whew! That was a relief for the Bush Cabal. ANOTHER COINCIDENCE!

Eventually, they re-scheduled the release to the public and the media. THE VERY DAY the media released the results? Ultimately, the Bush Cabal had their asses covered when nearly every media outlet "buried the lead," when they trumpeted the headlines BUSH WOULDA WON ANYWAY, but if you read the actual article, and usually the latter part, continued on like, page D25 or something, the conclusions reached showed that AL GORE WON.

THAT VERY MORNING, Flight #587 went down over Long Island. 260 Dead. Nice and bright and early that day, like before 9am, thusly shoving any RECOUNT REPORTS right off the headlines. It was PLANE CRASH, PLANE CRASH, PLANE CRASH, ALL DAY!

http://www.uwire.com/content/topnews111301002.html

Now, remember the excuse? Firstly, within two hours they were CERTAIN IT'S NOT TERRORISM! But the fucking tail "fell off" due to "turbulence." Never mind the fact that over 100 witnesses, who were ignored by the FBI, said they heard an explosion, saw a flame, etc.

Again, why couldn't this have been at least a "normal" accident. The TAIL FELL OFF? An accident? Sure, like Flight 800's center fuel tank "sparking up" and "exploding," like on Novermber 22, bullets zig-zagging back and forth all over Dealy Plaza, like two Democratic Candidates planes falling out of the sky two weeks before two national elections.

Sorry, gang. Talk to any pilot you know. Tails have NEVER "fallen off" planes due to "turbulence." For the FIRST TIME IN HISTORY it did so on the VERY DAY Bush could have had his Presidency seriously de-legitimized in the eyes of the American people.

Once you sanction, plan, or at least allow for, the murder of 3000 Americans to advance your imperialistic goals and profit motives, what's one plane full of a coupla hundred Americans? Peanuts!

Nothing to see here folks, MOVE ON!

IT'S JUST ANOTHER COINCIDENCE!

13. Interesting connection.
I've had that nagging suspicion ever since 9/11.

I remember that a few days before the attack the press was reporting that the surplus had disappeared and that * would have to rob Social Security to pay for his tax cuts. There was a hint that the extended honeymoon was finally over. I knew that the recount report was due out and I was optimistic that the public would finally see him (them) for who he is (they are). Then bam -and the village idiot turned into Churchill....

8. Nice work, Captain, and well thought out...
but I think you overestimate the intelligence of the Murkin TV Viewing Public--who were mostly glued to their rasslin and Girls Gone Wild infomercials and Fochs flag fests while the truth was trying to get out via the History Channel.

Of course, I say this without having seen whether or not Kennedy Week gave the History Channel a ratings boost. And wasn't it interesting how ABC suddenly decided to put Jennings on to "prove" the Lone Assassin scenario?

15. dont' forget Oswald's brother...
This was priceless.

Oswald's Brother says: "No Conspiracy"
http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/wire/sns-ap-jfk-oswalds-brother,0,7506133.story?coll=sns-ap-nationworld-headlines

and the kicker:

""Oswald had been depressed, feeling since childhood that he was unwanted, and was looking for a way to grab the spotlight""

Kinda like Osama attacking us cuz, "he hates our freedoms"
