If McCain can come out against this bill, but Feinstein can't
then why the hell are they still in our party? They should be thrown out in their primaries. Which Democrats are up for re-election? Daschle, some others...

Even he realizes that it is a shame that we cannot even negotiate lower drug prices or have drug importation.

1. Feinstein's not up for re-election until 2006
and when that time rolls around, I'm surely not voting for her again.

2. She just cost herself
her re-election. She will definetly be out of the primaries.

3. I'm noticing an awful lot of Democrats
who are just asking for a primary challenge the next time they're up.

4. I'm wondering if she want's leverage in conference committee
Sometimes these Dem reps vote for this stuff
hoping to have more say when it goes into conference
with the House...
I hope she has a plan because this bill stinks.

5. Feinstein was always a left leaning centrist. That's who Ca. voted for

and if she was a real liberal that seat might belong to a Republican, since Boxer was already the liberal seat.

She's being exactly who she is. She never pretended to be a liberal.

She might also see that the bill already has the votes and is working from within to make it better. Some Senators are stuck with that task. It's a thankless task, too. Many supposedly sophisticated minds, even here at DU, have trouble grasping the DUTY of the Senators stuck negotiating.

6. Whatever
I'm still not voting for her again. Boxer kicks ass and sets a fine example for Feinstein.

7. Hey, I'm a socialist and I voted for Feinstein when I lived in Ca.
The alternative was a rightwinger. I'm quite certain I made the right choice.

8. This is surprising?
Sheesh... the two party system has us rooting for these people like it's a football game, why should they care what we think of their votes?

Incumbents are re-elected something like 98 percent of the time.

Yeah, they really care what we think.
