Don't forget this alternative to AARP
http://www.retiredamericans.org/

They are actively fighting this bill. We got membership forms from them to share at our Democratic meetings in the area. It is only $10 a year, and you can choose to donate a little more if you wish. This includes spouse as well.

We would have dropped AARP ages ago if we had known of this.

1. AARP is censoring their boards
I posted a comment or two to the AARP board about their back stabbing of the seniors in this country. At the same time I posted a link to Retired Americans. They removed it and said that I was advertising for that site.

Oddly enough when I returned later I discovered that they had also removed a link to a Newsweek article for the same reason! What a bunch of hypocrites. Not only are they backstabbing seniors but they are busy covering up per the usual republican lies and bullschitt!

2. Well, here's my plan for AARP...
...since I'm a member right now.

Every piece of junk mail they send me that has a postage paid envelope will be returned - empty. On the back of the envelope, with a thick black flet pen, will be written "SHAME ON AARP FOR SELLING US OUT!"

Imagine if everyone in AARP did this......}(

3. 1 (800) 424 - 3410 - AARP membership services number.
It's busy-busy-busy, but they need to hear from us nevertheless. Call and give 'em hell when you get through!

4. Attach the letter to a brick
Wrap up a brick and tape the letter to the front. Might not work but it is worth a try.

5. I urge members to cancel their membership with AARP!
I did. Phone number is: 1-800-424-3410

I had to wait about 10 minutes.
