This is a very important article, and needs to be rated highly. This is the message we need to get out there; I can't begin to count the number of times the media whore talking heads have said 'but it gives prescription drug benefits to millions of poor seniors.' and 'but the AARP supports this bill'. Bah.

1. They quote Bob Myers - the 1934 Social Security Actuary - Great!

I really like Bob- and have not seen him for more than 5 years -

And he is alive at 91.!!!!! :-)

His book - "Social Security" - gives detail on the birth of SS - perhaps detail only another actuary could love - but I think everyone would enjoy the discussion of how the Democratic Party tried to put SS on a Funded basis with real assets - and the GOP stopped them in the early 40's with the cry - "NO TO SOCIALISM BY THE BACK DOOR"

Now does anyone want to discuss the Bush SS private accounts where investment choice is limited by the Government?

It is so easy to hate the GOP. And our media for having no memory of GOP past deeds -
