I just called this number, a minute ago as of this writing, just a little after 8 am pacific time. The line was busy-busy-busy to Ted Kennedy's office, but I kept trying til I got through. I called to encourage ol' Ted on the filibuster, and tell him to pay no attention to those who were calling to give him grief about it.
Guess what - the staffer said there were FEW grief calls this morning. Only two. She said there were many more calls supporting the filibuster. I said - please add me in there, too, and that he needed to know people like him are our only hope, so please stay strong and keep at it!
I was surprised to hear the reaction that there were few negative calls. I'd expected them to be deluged with hateful freeper phoners. It's certainly happened before. But this is a good sign, even if only a little one. Even if it's only good for today. But it's MUCH better than what I expected to be told.
Mind you, this is not to let you off the hook. Ted Kennedy and others like him (you know them, the ones who decided not to be invertebrates anymore) NEED OUR SUPPORT. They need to know we back their increasingly obvious spines with LOTS of calcium supplements. His opponents need to know this, too. BIG TIME!
That TOLL FREE number works as well calling rethugs as it does Dems.

I'm sorry to keep nagging, but this is important. No, this is urgent! Because I know that EVERY person who frequents this site agrees that bush and his parade of dancing, scheming, sociopathic megalomaniacs are collectively the worst disaster to hit the U.S. since its history began being recorded. They ALL need to be kicked out!!!
We HAVE TO use our power and build upon it. START by calling that TOLL FREE number. Go to www.congress.org and the directory there, for ALL the connective info on anybody in the House and/or Senate - including their local office info. USE IT! Check out www.takebackthemedia.com for contact info on all the print/broadcast media outlets. USE THEM!! Any time you see a report or a column or editorial linked here, check at the bottom for the author's email address or other contact info. USE IT!! MAKE YOURSELF HEARD! IT REALLY COUNTS!!!
Especially now, when we actually have a few Dems who are getting reacquainted with their backbones. We need to build on that, and on them.
JUST DO IT. Even one thing, first thing every morning. But JUST DO IT.
