This debate today is gonna be awkward, Kerry and Edwards are going to participate via satellite. Weird.
I think it would have been better if they didn't, it would have been interesting to see the dynamic of the three candidates in the top column; Dean, Gephardt and Clark have a mini-debate.

1. With all due respect to those guys |

I agree completely. The debates have been difficult enough just by virtue of the sheer number of candidates, resulting in a situation where very little gets said that's of much substance. Add to this equation the usual satellite delays and technological hiccups inherent in live "conferencing" and I think it's going to be a very awkward debate indeed.
Some people really need to drop out. Now.

2. agree, they should have been left out |
|
kerry had already said he would not debate, and edwards did also. so they should have just left it at that. and then things were made worse with the whole lieberman thing wanting in but not being able to get in.

I don't understand why they decided to take part, they already said they wouldn't before because of the filibuster.
It's not like it would hurt their campaigns to miss this debate, hell, Kerry is my first choice and I like Edwards too but this satellite deal is gonna make this debate problematical.
And I agree about lieberman, it doesn't look fair now.

4. Yes, Brokaw is moderating ... |

... and he want to "stir things up" and "go after" the candidates according to U.S. News and World Report. Look for him to play the tired gotcha game with all the candidates. Of course, it would never occur to him that he is supposed to REPORT the news not MAKE it.
God forbid he would actually "go after" Bush on lying to us. Oh no, how impolite.
