Longer threads are far too unwieldy

I wish there was an option to view 20-30 messages at a time. My web browser slows to a crawl when it is forced to scroll through a long web page with 100+ messages on it.

I have cable internet, fast 2.6 Ghz Pentium, 64mb video card. So I don't think its a problem with my machine.

I've noticed that. But it seems that some of the longer threads turn into "Who can get in The Last Word" flames so I've learned to ignore the ones that get too long.

10. Its bad enough

waiting for a long thread to load. But then you have to scroll through it which takes forever. I don't believe web browsers are designed to handle web pages that are that long which is why scrolling through one is slow as molasses.

I have a high-end computer and cable connection that gets bogged down on the longer threads, so I imagine its a lot worse for 56ker's.

We have threads which last for MONTHS that way - one is more than a year old.
