Rush has me livid. Please help about JFK
Edited on Mon Nov-24-03 04:02 PM by maxrandb
I know that I should not do it, but at times listening to Rush is like watching the proverbial trainwreck. I just can't look away, but today he made me so pi$$ed that I wanted to rip out my car stereo, throw it out the window, then back over it, put the car in drive and run over it again.

He was basically saying that current DEMS could not use the legacy of JFK because what JFK believed about taxes and national defense was more in line with what the current Repukes are doing. I know that JFK supported tax cuts, but I also know that the economic situation was different during his time in office.

How these folks can steal one of the great Democrats of all time for their own nefarious purposes is maddening. Especially when you consider that most of the true neo-cons jumped with joy when he was assasinated.

Rush is one sick Mo-Fo and I am sending e-mails to all of his sponsors to let them know I will never purchase any of their products and will urge them to do the same.

Of course, I have no use for a steel building, and I don't need the latest obscure weight loss treatment...by the way, how does this fu$#er make money with advertisers like that?

edited to change no to KNOW. Sorry, but I'm so pi$$ed I can't see straight.

2. Don't get too wound up. lol. It's only Limbaugh.
Instead of urging his sponsors not to buy their own products ;-) , just let it sliiiiiiide off.
It never seizes to amaze me how people take his crap to be the undisputed truth. Like I said in my post on the subject, their voting rights ought to be in jeopardy.

Anyway, don't email his sponsors. That is sooo republican. Those tactics will prevent anything controversial from either side hitting the public media ever again.

4. Would you become angry if a junkie you saw on the street
said something stupid and ignorant? Please try to remember that the people who still believe and listen to Rush are simple and beyond hope. He can lie, fabricate, weave and deceive and they will believe him, you don’t have to reduce yourself to him by listening to him.

Always remember that he has to use the most powerful drugs made in massive quanities so that he can spew that bile, if you are sober and listening you are no match. Either get wasted too, or turn him off.

5. what he is saying
is that JFK was more than willing to annihilate the world for political purposes (see Cuban missile crisis). This is what he was referring to when he said that JFK thinks like the current administration.

6. It's quite simple...
Kennedy presided over large tax cuts WHEN the rich and corporations were paying closer to 70% tax rate.

Sure, let's get back to the "good old days" when corporations and the rich were paying so much that the average joe didn't have to pay as much.

Rush is great at cherry-picking factoids without offerring the historical context necessary to truly evaluate a claimed fact.

It amazes me how much conservatives preach about a need to return to "the good old days" of America, when, in those days, the rich and corporations were paying a LOT more of the tax burden in this country.

Seems to me that THIS is the reason those were the good old days for most folks....the corporations and the few rich were helping the country out.

7. Seeing straight isn't all its cracked up to be!!
Just take deep breaths and think of it as i do! Rush and all that are like him are the spawn of Satan. Placed here to destroy our world for generations to come. So find solace in the fact that every night when you cry ourself to sleep because of the terrible shape of our country and our world that god hears you. And with any luck he will show mercy and blow the whole fu$#ing world up very soon.

8. remember this
there is no one in the current bush klan that could handle the complex issues that kenndy faced. we almost went to war twice during his short term but he defused the problems with out us going to a war with the russians.. bush and his klan would have gotten into a nuclear war and we wouldn`t be here typing about the fate of the world,we would probaly be dead.

18. Are you kidding?
"we almost went to war twice during his short term but he defused the problems with out us going to a war with the russians."

Kennedy's blockade of Cuba was an act of war which could have provoked a nuclear attack. We were damned lucky Khruschev backed down.

10. Sorry, it's true
JFK was perhaps the first true Republican-Lite - not only did he cut taxes on the rich, using the exact same excuses as the Republicans do, he was one of the worst warmongers our country has had in modern times.

We've just heard that Bush plans on overthrowing Cuba - of course the last President to try was JFK.

If JFK hadn't have been shot, he would have never been the "liberal hero" that he is today.

11. .The Republicans can not even remotely aline themselves with JFK
or any of the Kennedys....The only thing they have in common is their wealth, but that's where the big divide is evident....Republicans live to acquire wealth and to hell with everyone else....The Kennedys (including JFK) were born into great wealth and rather than just live a life of leisure, they have chosen to devote their lives to making life better for the less fortunate....

12. You could also remind him . . .
That Republicans shouldn't claim Abraham Lincoln because he was for progressive taxation and keeping corporations from gaining too much power.

20. Problem is that he
has a national forum to spew this junk, and along with the other 24 hours a day of talk radio, he IS having an impact when folks enter the voting booths.

Talk radio is nothing but an unclaimed/unreported campaign donation to the Repukes.

I would have no problem with Rush if you could have someone come on after him and skewer his lies with the same 15 hours a day for the opposite side. I've said it before. "With talk radio, you get three hours of Rush followed by 12 hours of people that agree with him". If you don't think this has an impact nationally, then you are delusional.

If you tell a lie often enough, it becomes truth. It's like a self-fulfillng prophecy. Especially when you have no one that comes after him to discredit his lies.

I will also say this. If we allow these fu$3ers to steal the legacy of JFK, it will be a long, long, trip for the Democrats through the dark forest of insignificance and political minority.

16. SO STOP LISTENING!
(on the other hand...at least you are e-mailing his sponsors)

That junkhead is an evil man...the Julius Streicher of the Imperial Age.

Just turn it off. You give Streicher's words power by listening to them.

17. 2001 = > repubs cannot align themselves with < 2001 repubs
Who were screaming about reducing the Deficit, high prices of gasoline, campaign finance reform, making war in an area with no national interest, ridding the US of a president who lies, "the death of a single American soldier is not worth the humanitarian missions", etc.

22. Ask Teddy if JFK would be a Republican today.
Or Bobby Kennedy Jr., or Caroline Kennedy.

What was happened in politics in 1960 has no bearing on politics in 2003.
