So p*ssed I resigned twice (AARP)
I so mad at arrp I have resigned twice. How dare those bastards. How did Rove get to them? How did they put these tv ads together so quick without advance knowledge, using the same language as the politicians. "not prefect.....but" OOh I'm pissed.

1. I am not an AARP member
but I have read the postings on their site about this stinker of a bill and a whopping majority do not like it. How dare AARP come out in favor when their membership is against it? There needs to be a massive membership revolt.

AARP is nothing but an insurance provider. Most of their money comes from insurance and pharmacuticle companies.

2. Senator Durbin connected the dots right to AARP
There is something in the bill that provides money for these insurance savings accounts. It goes to a company that was bought out by United Health which is an AARP run insurance company. I think I've got that right; something like 6 billion dollars.

And where will the money come from? The taxpayers. Kennedy brought up the fact that the stock in HMO's is rising because of all the gifts they are getting in this legislation.

4. I went over to their forums too, and
found this post

But I understand your need to attack me and my reputation. Certainly you don't want your membership to learn how to get well from Cancer, Heart Disease, Parkinson's Lupus, Arthritis, Diabetes and many, many other diseases by natural methods, without drugs of any kind. After all, one of the main functions of AARP, according to your own advertising, is to sell drug medications to your members.

Let's see, with 30 million members (all over 55) and each one spending maybe $100.00 per month with AARP for their medication (a conservative estimate), that amounts to $3 BILLION in drug sales per month. If your organization gets a cut of just 10% of that total, that¹s $300 MILLION per month for you! If your cut is only 1%, that's still $30 MILLION per month you are receiving, a minimum of $360 MILLION per year!
