DeadLine Iraq - Uncensored Stories of the War - [graphic photo]
http://www.cbc.ca/deadlineiraq

"These are the stories that weren’t told by the media during the Iraq war. CBC NEWS goes straight to the source, to journalists, camera operators and photographers from news organizations around the world, who reveal the lethal risks they faced, as well as the untold horrors they witnessed."

1. Jesus Christ..
Well, at least they're free now! Thanks neo-cons. Thanks media. Thanks Dyncorp, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin. I'm sure these free Iraqis truly appreciate your help in their quest to be the victim of state(and corporate)-sponsored terror.

2. Oh my F'n GAWD
Do they even have a future? Was their scarred lives worth taking out Sadaam? They will have to live like this for the rest of their lives.

Some frightening statistics that are't reported in the press is that there is a Cholera outbreak in Basra and Basra has one of the highest rates of cancer in the world as a result of the depleted uranium from the bombs the US has dropped.

3. The true face of war
These children and the harm committed to them is what war really looks like. If anyone looks at the website, you see a woman crying over the loss of her husband, and lots more death, destruction, pain, and sorrow. What always ends up happening is that innocents get caught in the cross-fire of bullets and bombs, an ugly machine of death and destruction. It's much better to get caught in the cross-fire of the words of diplomacy and negotiation, it's far less harmful to the innocents and doesn't create the suffering that normally goes with armed conflict which is really a tragedy.

4. Democrats Voted For This
Let's not put the entire blame on Bush. Democrats voted for it, too. Let's remember who they are.

5. Saw this on Deadline CBC Sunday 23rd.
Be sure to look for reruns. Uncensored Stories of Iraq. Reality sucks and this is unsterilized reality recorded by brave journalists in the heart of the battle.

7. Will be repeated on ...
Repeating on CBC News: Sunday November 30 on at 10AM (10:30NL) on CBC TV
and 12PM & 7PM ET on CBC Newsworld

Described By John Doyle of the Globe and Mail

"Deadline Iraq: Uncensored Stories of the War (Sunday, CBC, 10 p.m.) is being shown commercial-free, and with good reason. It would be seriously inappropriate to show silly ads during a program so haunting in its depiction of the savagery of war and often so graphic in showing us the dead and wounded. This is the war in Iraq as you never saw it in the spring of this year. It contains footage that the American military would not allow on air and photos that no newspaper would print during the war."

6. The Paradox of the whole situation
BTW, what disease is that? It's not from bombing, or else it wouldn't only be on their faces and knecks.

Anyways, about paradox, look at this photo from the slideshow....

8. Perhaps those who served in ...
the military might have an idea if weapons could have caused that scarring.

I have no idea what type of weapons the US military used in their 'hearts and minds' campaign.

9. From my anatomy and first responder classes in university and at
Motorola (respectively) I'd say those are flash burns. Flash burns rarely ignite clothing because the heat is gone fast enough, but flesh is far more fragile. So one can be burned on face and arms and hands and not on the torso or shoulders.

The boy in front has quite a shiner; that didn't come from a flash burn.

I would like to know what caused those wounds. BTW, they don't look like SCARS, they look more like healing wounds/burns that are in debriding.

Of course, I'd be ticked at CBC if those end up being something completely non-related.... that does no good, either.
