another Republican with "regrets" |
|
We have a contractor at work to do maintenance/building repair work. The contractor is a Republican, and for the past 2-1/2 years we've "enjoyed" jabbing at each other about Bush, Clinton, Repubs and Dems
Yesterday he pokes his head into my office and hands me an ad he found. The ad is for a t-shirt that says "SOMEWHERE IN TEXAS A VILLIAGE IS MISSING AN IDIOT"
I thanked him for it and promptly added taped it to my wall.
In the past the contractor had said that he voted for Bush but it was more of an anti-Gore vote than a pro-Bush vote.
Well, yesterday he sheepishly confessed that he regrets that vote. He said that while he didn't think Clinton was a very good president and didn't want to chance another 4 years of the same policies under Gore - he thinks Bush is WORSE than he (the contractor) ever expected and in hindsight Clinton looks positivly saintly compared to Bush.
He also said he changed his voter registration from Republican to independent and is considering changing it again to Dem so he can vote in the primary.

I work for an old friend. We argued about Bush a few times. After the non discovery of WMD he said he was betrayed, and that he hated Bush.

4. He is going to love this new drug bill....... |
|
Looks like a pass through of our tax money to the drug companies. And the un-born will foot the bill if the country can hold off going backrupt untill then.I am sure not going to read a 600 plus page bill so I hope to see some thing that tells me just what is in this. So far it does not sound like a really good bill for anyone but the drug companies.Business welfare at its best.

5. There is a silent majority of Bush haters |
|
Went to a great party last night. A guy in attendance, late 20's confided in me he realllllyyy hated Bush, as if he were revealing a dark secret. In Utah, you are practically REQUIRED by the Mormon church to vote Repub. I am guessing alot of people are saving face and will privately boot the chimp.
