And the biggest debate loser was....... (TA DA!) Tom Wawa. |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-25-03 05:05 AM by Jim Sagle
As already noted, Sharpton dope slapped him thoroughly for his lame and inappropriate introduction of Tawana Brawley into the debate.
But the worst damage was self-inflicted. At the end he slipped into a phony, pompous and unctuous sing-song fake "announcer of the millenium" delivery of a aubstance-free summary of the debate and what it meant to democracy and the US OF A.
If you're still awake, you may ask a la Ed McMahon, "How pompous and unctuous WAS it?"
The answer: "So pompous it made John Kerry seem like Art Carney by comparison, and so unctuous it made Joe Lieberman seem like Mike Savage (also by comparison)."
And his voice just was not up to the job of delivering the load of pomposity and unctuousness he was placing upon it. For that, we would have had to resurrect NFL announcer from the dead and have HIM deliver the aforementioned load.
Somewhere Tom's clone, Baba Wawa, is puking.

Had no trouble knowing who you were talking about. Though I don't think the Reverend did all that good in difusing the question. He just managed to get a couple of shots at Dean while doing it.

5. Well, I actually thought that ol' G.G. |
|
was a pretty good mod.
I realize that isn't saying much.
His closing remarks did seem like a, ah, 'senior moment'.

You know there's something wrong when the candidates are only allowed 60 seconds to answer one of Brokaw's 45-second questions.

8. Brokow is one pompous a##hole. |
|
His long questions had some asking for a repeat. His audacity in asking pompous questions of men who have given public service and who actualley STudied issues was unberable. Tom Brokow is a talking head. Nothing more (no captin of industry,no scholar, no public servant). His slurring and putting the emphsis on the wrong words is unwatchable. When he reads from the teleprompter you can tell where the line ends , he has to follow on with the next lower line this fouls up the flow of the sentence. Un real.
