What should FCC ownership limits be? |
|
even 35% being more than a third seems a little too high to me. I'd say 25-30%

I think that 20% is way too high because that's one out of five.

2. Wanna throw Powell into a tizzy? |
|
Roll everything back to the 1934 Communications Act, and start over.
You'd see fur flying everywhere.
_We_ own the airwaves, not Viacom, or Media `R Us, or whomever. If the current FCC members prefer to work for the media, instead of the people, throw `em out. Period.
Cheers.

3. Ownership should be FORCED to pre 1996 standard. |
|
That would neuter Clear Channel and Rupert Murdock. Disney would have to sell something or get out of entertainment news.

4. I would be tougher.. ONE per venue |
|
1 paper...OR 1 tv station OR 1 radio station...
This crap of owning ALL of the "message" is ridiculous..
If they are truly "the public's airwaves".. I would like to see a nationwide petition that TAKES THEM BACK.. Let the "nation" form a NEW entity that really oversees what the owners/broadcasters are doing..
Make access to those airwaves affordable to ALL.. as a NECESSARY service...just as water delivery/electricity/phone service..
Access to information is perhaps THE most important , because it shapes how we have access and information about EVERYTHING..
I do not WANT Mellon-Scaife or Murdoch or Moon or ANYONE else telling me what I should Know or Think about ANYTHING !!!!
TAKE BACK THE MEDIA...for REAL !!!!
