Have you guys heard about this strategy to combat another stolen election? |
|
I think I heard this on Mike Malloy. Anyhow, the strategy is to vote with an ABSENTEE ballot. Then, you have a copy of your vote. Hell, have it notarized!
Seriously, what do you think of this?

2. I'm afraid that absentee ballots are not counted in some circumstances |
|
Like if the election is conceded before all the votes are counted.

3. I never knew that. They don't count absentee ballots? |
|
Something is wrong here. If a person is disabled and votes absentee, that vote isn't counted? Say what?

8. Sometimes they just are not worth counting |
|
Say a local election is won by 5,000 votes and there are 300 absentee ballots. There is no purpose in counting the absentee votes.
Wether this is right or wrong is debatable. But as far as affecting the outcome of the election, it doesnt.

4. no enough people would do it to make a difference . . . |
|
people are generally lazy, especially about voting . . . it's like pulling teeth just getting them to the polls, never mind making the extra effort it would take to vote by absentee ballot . . . a good idea only in the abstract . . . in reality, it would never fly . . .

6. I've worked the polls many times |
|
and every absentee ballot is counted where I am from - Indiana. You don't even know until after the polls close if the election is close or not. Everyone runs their tape and then counts the absentees to add to the totals, then take all your information to the Courthouse where all the votes of the various precincts are recorded. I've never heard of NOT counting all absentee ballots!
Having said that, I doubt if enough people would change what they are used to doing to make a difference.

7. So what is the REAL story on absentee ballots? Are they counted or what? |
|
Does it depend on the state?
