who then should lead the democrats in the senate.?

to answer a hypothetical, I really like Dick Durbin. He is sooo intelligent, and he always speaks boldly.

8. God, not Landrieu
She voted for the Medicare bill, regularly supports Bush, and was a squeaker in her own election (or rather had to have a runoff.) Yeah, she was great during the judicial nom marathon, but she's just another appeasing Dem.

9. the important factor is that the new leader come
from a state where her/his seat is SAFE. It is because of Daschle's constant fighting for re-election that he can be cajoled by an ethanol bribe to support this horror of an energy bill.

Someone from NY, MA or CA is important, because our leader should be able to take thier re-election pretty much for granted, like Frist does.
