I am a little worried about the weekend
Have you noticed that the action in Iraq had been concentrated during the weekends? It seems worse on Fridays and Saturdays.

I have this working theory or supposition that the insurgents have been looking for maximum media exposure. This would seem to work better on the weekends when most here are at home.

It will be a long weekend. Ramadan is also concluding. I am hoping for the best but am also concerned.

1. On the news this evening
the CIA was predicting attacks SOMEWHERE in the next few days or week. They may happen in Turkey again. It could possibly be in the U.S. The terrorists have supposedly devised a crude delivery system for a biological agent that could be set off and asphyxiate anyone nearby. They expect some kind of attack because of the end of Ramadan. The terrorists believe that if they commit a terrorist act during the end of Ramadan, Allah will open his arms to them and welcome them to his kingdom. So, I think your concerns are warranted.

2. If it's in the US
I doubt somehow that Bush & Co would say it was actually the terrorists unless it affected a large number of people. To tell the American people that terrorists had been successful on our soil would also tell them that we are not safer with GW in office and they just can't allow that. It would be the final nail in the coffin for Vote2004.

3. Isn't the threat level about the same as when we went to Orange?
I don't think we will go to level Orange again before the election. We can go ahead and use our duct tape to secure leaks in our heating ducts.

I was talking to an airlines person the other day who was describing how many extra security people Barbara Bush has with her when she travels compared to other former First Ladies. She sounds extremely paranoid. Maybe the First Son was raised paranoid as his normal state. Maybe his illusions grandeur and his paranoia mean something unhealthy.

4. That or
it could give him his excuse to declare Martial Law and then there will be NO election in 2004. :(
