I would guess that the Green candidate gets more Democratic votes than the Democratic candidate in the SF mayoral race.
The Green is the better candidate this time around. Of course, in California, these offices are 'nonpartisan' and don't list parties --thus you vote for the candidate you like.
So, this means that Republicans will vote for the Democrat and many Democrats will vote for the Green. No big deal, liberal politics wins --somewhere at least!

While 1/3 to 2/5 of Cali's districts may be winnable with somebody as left as Bernie Sanders, Paul Wellstone, or Ed Fallon, it'll probably scare the Hell out of people elsewhere.
Where's the balance between inspiring the base and attracting swing voters?
