Feinstein's Terrible Judgement (Longtime Supporter)
I am aghast at Dianne Feinstein's support of the Medicare bill.

Didn't it compute to her that perhaps there was something wrong when Ted Kennedy opposes a Medicare bill and all those conservative Republicans suddenly favor it?!

What's still worse was her speech on Sunday on C-SPAN where she brough up issue after issue that was wrong with the bill, and explained her support of the bill because she "received assurances" from the leadership and Bill Frist.

Damm1t her.

At least Boxer voted correctly on this. If Dianne runs again and gets a primary challenge, I am not only thinking of voting for her opponent in the primary, I'm thinking of contributing to him/her!

Bah!!!

1. Actually, she used very good judgment - for a whore.
When politicians do things that are too stupid to believe, it's often a good bet they're working for the other side.

7. At least John Kerry voted against the bill
and supported Kennedy's filibuster.

I sent this comment to Bernie Ward and he read it on air. I'm so angry and watching her on C-SPAN just sent me over the edge. I know she values her independence, but spare me.

Yes, if she wins the primary, I'll vote for her, but I'd rather see Jackie Speier. Even my congresswoman, Ellen Tauscher, Blue Dog Democrat that she is, voted against the Medicare bill.

Kudos to Boxer. She never hemmed and hawed on this issue!

19. Depends. Who funded her? One would only vote for this atrocity if
one was getting payola from pharmaceuticals and HMOs. She is certainly not above it. A vote to invade Iraq...clearly illegal and unethical, bought her husband a nice fat contract.

8. I don't think she's as savvy as she thinks she is
She's one of those who think they can negotiate with the other side. Truth is, Orrin Hatch has proved even their computer records are not safe. Feinstein needs to go in the primary, like all the other idiots who think they are dealing with the old GOP.

10. She, like every other Dem that voted for it.................
are looking out ONLY for themselves. They want to be re-elected and they thought backing this albatross was the way to insure their re-election. How shortsighted they are. This is going to bite them where it hurts come election time, they're doomed.

11. See front-page WaPo story about handing over Medicare...
issue to the Republicans. Feinstein helped, as did, unbelievably, our own Senate leader, Daschle.

12. Di Fi is not bright

When she was asked about the Patriot Act. She basically said that people are worried for no reason, and that she hadn't heard of any cases of abuse. It's so stupid, of course you wouldn't hear about abuses because its mostly going to be implemented in secret.

Also, when she was mayor of San Francisco during the period of the Night Stalker she blabbed to the press about vital clues to the case, making it harder to catch Richard Ramirez.

She's abandoned her constituency with one outrage after another. I won't miss her.

15. She has always been...
more conservative than I am comfortable with, but these past few years she has just gone over to the dark side. Big time.

I fear she received my last vote.

16. Don't think about it. Do it!
I wrote DiFi off after she voted to give Bush unmitigated war powers. She almost redeemed herself when she supported Gray Davis during the recall, but this time she really crossed the line with me. She could walk on water for all I care in the future and I will not support her candidacy in any way. It's time to find another Democrat to challenge her in the primaries the next time she's up for re-election.

20. I never liked her very much.
I lived in the Bay Area during the 80's. She was the one who tripled bus fares in SF, she left SF in a budget deficit, she also stabbed the back of dock workers. I honestly think Jello Biafra should run for the Senate against her! I cannot stand her!

22. DINO Fienstien
was one of the few democratic senators to vote for Bush's* original tax cuts (I'm talking the one a few months after he got the office). For God's sake, Evan Bayh of INDIANA voted against the damn thing.

She's voted for a bunch of other right wing crap though including the flag burning ammendment, bankruptcy "reform", not to mention the recent vote on the medicare bill, and her dismissal of those criticising the patriot act.

I understand when democratic senators from southern/conservative states vote for crappy Bush* legislation. I may find it cowardly, spineless, and pathetic, but I can understand and even find a way to forgive them, but for a senator from CA of all states to go along with a large part of Bush's* agenda, it simply makes me sick.

If I have any, I will send the democratic primary challenger '06 some $$$ to try to get her out of office. My guess though is that she has the entire party establishment behind her, which is very unfortunate.

23. She lost my vote !!
She voted for the war when 80% of her constituents were against it.
She is a strong supporter of the Patriot act. She has lost my vote in the next election.
