W* Gets Credit For 'Economic Boom', Needs An Excuse For The Coming Bust! |
|
We all know what the last excuse was.
The new numbers don't add up:
Commerce Department said real consumer spending was flat in October after falling 0.6 percent in September. Incomes were up 0.4 percent, due to large gains in proprietors' income and income from rents.
Also directly conflicting reports on consumer confidence and
holiday spending.
Yeah I'm afraid. Very Afraid. I see only one way they can come up
with something to blame when the numbers have to shake out.

4. Check out the Stock Market Watch Thread in LBN. |
|
I'm not much good at it either but the Marketeers have been
pointing out a bunch of contradictory Econ. News lately.
The W* admin. has been crowing about the 'boom' , which by many
acounts appears illusory.
Admin. will need something to blame when the Enron type accounting
can no longer be hidden.

2. Two Street prognosticators... |
|
Both with excellent track records, are predicting Bad Things in the coming weeks. Also: If this holiday season is a net loss, as it may well be, things could get ugly.
All in all, it smells like nothing but books, well-done, to me.

3. I am going to go out on a limb |

and predict a robust holiday shopping season. Just a hunch I have and I have no evidence to back up my prediction.
