What are some ways we can increase voter turn-out? |
|
My suggestion is to push for vote by mail as Oregon does. They had an eighty percent turn-out last election and went Democratic. What other state even came close to that? Fifty percent of the people don't bother to vote. They would like to see the US become a different place but feel their one vote doesn't make any difference. We need to make voting as easy as sitting down to a cup of coffee at the kitchen table. Imagine if you had all the material in front of you for a week or two and had plenty of time to analyze the material and talk it over with your significant other and then let the postman come and pick up your ballot. You don't have to stand in any lines or find parking or listen to people hacking and coughing all around you. It would be clean and easy and just as trust worthy as anything we have in place now. I say the proof is in the pudding and Oregon is the pudding. Okay now every one spend time telling me how crazy I am without offering your idea of how to entice people to vote.

2. Apparently no one has anything positive to offer |

All anybody wants to do here is criticize other DUers or their ideas. I'm trying to entertain some positive things we can try and do to save Democracy but  it isn't a bash fest between Dean and Clark so no interest.
