1. Clark is presidential material
If he was in the spot for VP, I'de go with Gephardt as the front man.

10. If he's not presidential material then he's not ...
VP material either. A VP should be ready to step into the job if something were to happen to the president- such as assassinated or dies in office. I'll admit that Dan Quayle was not presidential material. :)

12. that's right
a VP can still be necessary to win, and yet not be presidential material. After being VP for a few years he may become presidential material. He just seems a bit clueless right now...

18. Oddly enough, Quayle did okay the time he had to step up & lead
I forget the crisis, probably one of the recurring Libya pummelings from the late 80s, but he seems to have helmed a minor crisis okay. Any moron can handle any quickie crisis if he's got professionals feeding him smart choices and a capable military.

It's those big policy choices that sink the idiots and get people needlessly killed.

6. No way.
Gephardt just said on Fox that the DNC will be wrong in their new add if they call Bush a liar. Did anyone else see this? He also said that it was basically the intelligence's fault for the War. Isn't that opposite of Clarks claim that "GW is slow to accept responsibility"!

7. Gep is just covering his ass
His position all along on the IWR was that he "listened" to the intelligence folks at the Pentagon, not Bush.

9. This is the first...
I'm hearing of this. If Gephardt starts a rant that goes against what I believe in, I will have to choose someone else. Thanks for the info.

2. Everyone and no one.
No one because he is over qualified for VP. I wish I had time to get into this.

20. Clark would be a great VP for
anyone who doesn't have military/foreign policy experience

Dean would need him the most, but Gephardt and Edwards would certainly benefit from having Clark as VP as well.

21. I voted Dean but
I don't really believe they would pair well. Either of them would need somebody less ego-invested. Either of them would need an insider as VP. Bob Graham would be my VP choice for President Dean or President Clark.

22. Clark will not be any lightweight's VP.....Sorry to break it to you!
These candidates are running for the position of "Commander-in-Chief", Not Mayor of San Francisco (Pop. 750,000+...many more than in Vermont and much more diverse too!)

and in looking for the best person to be "Commander-in-Chief"
The fact that Clark has been the SAUCER says a lot.

Not only has CLARK FOUGHT WARS, PLANNED WARS, CONDUCTED WARS, WON WARS (without one casualty), FACED AND NEGOTIATED WITH DICTATORS FACE TO FACE, NEGOTIATED PEACE TREATIES, WORKED AS A WHITE HOUSE FELLOWS, AND HAD TO FIGHT A THIRD FRONT AGAINST THE PENTAGON...... BUT HE SPEAKS 4 LANGUAGES AND IS INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN AND RESPECTED.

But CLARK HAS ONE OTHER THING THAT THE OTHER CANDIDATES DO NOT.

IT CALLED THE "Q" FACTOR. AND THAT HE CANNOT "TRANSFERED" TO OTHER CANDIDATES......

SO SORRY, CLARK IS REALLY THE BEST FITTED TO BE PRESIDENT! NUFF SAID!

It's called Heavyweight contender v. everybody else (including Bush)
