What to buy...footwear, soda

We know that the sneaker industry is toast. Nothing made here anymore. I used to wear Timberlands and would be happy to wear them exclusively if they were still made here. I've swithced to Merrells but they're foreign made too. Is there any footwear, besides Birks, that is made somewhere without bad human rights record? Also, I like Coke and figure Coke is a better corp. than PepsiCo but that not be saying much. Is there a decent soda company to support? Note: Here in the northeast we call it soda...not pop. Don't correct me.

1. SAS - San Antonio SHoes

I think they have a casual sneaker type shoe - and they are all handmade in San Antone, plus they fix 'em for free for life. Used to be only little old ladies wore them, but they are so damn comfy lotsa people are getting them now, and they updated their styles.

2. Gah.

After being on the Atkins diet for 9 months now, I'm not sure I will ever drink a soda again.
Certainly not a regular one.
Might as well be sucking down karo syrup in fizzy water.
Bleh.

Check your local natural food co-op.
If you can't find one, look for your nearest Whole Foods Grocery.
There has to be a local mom&pop soda maker near you.
If nothing else try finding a good gingerbeer soda.

3. i buy my shoes from pangea

they are all vegan and ethically made. most are from spain or italy but if i cant find ethical stuff here im going to where i can.

also, all natural sodas are very tasty.

blue sky can be found at most health stores and virgils root bear is tasty. you might even have a local soda company near buy so look around.

you can make your own sodas with soda water and syrups, ala italian sodas.

4. Chaco Footwear

They are made in Colorado (http://www.chacousa.com/) and have boots and sandals. I don't own a pair, but I have plenty of friends who love the sandals.
