Why I believe Bush will go down next year |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-26-03 06:17 PM by Ugnmoose
and I am not talking in the election. If he is lucky he will last that long. I believe that there are forces at work both inside and outside of government that are laying in wait to expose at least one major scandal involving an administration coverup that will either tie directly back to Bush or so discredit him and his administration that he couldn't get elected to be dog-catcher of the year.
Why do I think this way? Primarily because the Bushistas are into so much dirt that there is no way that they will be able to manage and control all of the coverups. As John Dean has often said, it is the coverup that ultimately does in the villain. And Lord knows these guys are covered up to the stratosphere. I further believe this because The Mayberry Maciavellis have so enraged and pissed off and pissed on so many people that there are bound to be some who are frothing at the mouth to get their revenge. For example, there have to be honest spooks inside the CIA that have access to lots of dirt and want to get even. Especially because they have been so discredited by the Administration and also because of the outing of one of their own, Valerie Plame. I think they want to time this thing for next year during the campaign so as to get the maximum mileage out of it. This would be my first pick for avengers. But certainly there are many others including FBI'ers, Diplomats, and Foreign government officials who through their own intelligence sources could well have lots of nasty stuff to shove out in public.
Of course part of this is pure speculation, part of it is gut wishing, but alot of it is based on the fact that just like Nixon, Bush has burned alot of bridges and payback will be hell.

but it seems his crew holds the keys to any jail cell.
The white hats at the CIA could expose him, but it looks like no matter how treasonous the offense, Ashcroft won't investigate (like the Plame affair) and the media gives Bush a free pass.
Imagine. The White House needs intelligence to fight terror and they go hose a CIA agent and the agent's contacts. That offense is treason. Where's the media outrage? Oh yeah, it's at the Scott Peterson trial.

4. In order to make it stick |

the evidence will have to be solid and incontrovertible. Even the mediawhores won't be able to spin that. And once it is out it will then become a media feeding frenzy. Once again the evidence must be hard and fast and documented to the hilt. As difficult as that might sound, I believe it is there or is in the process of being assembled. Also, think about this. If you really wanted to make the biggest impact, would you shoot your load now or wait till the thick of the campaign next year?

it won't be because our democratic leadership did anything to help it happen. Our hope is a Woodward-like journalist who is successful in not just exposing the scandal, but dumbing it down for the public at large to understand.

He may have something up his sleeve (or under his hat). Who better to leak to?

but I am not placing my hopes on scandal bringing him down, While it would be nice, I think we should prepare to run and win on issues. For the future of the party and the left, we need to sell our ideas to the majority. That should be our focus.

This post in no way was to insinuate that we abandon efforts to unseat him fair and square come next November.
