But I lurk occassionally...

Just got through a stressful local election season and it's been hard to keep up with all of the BS coming out of 1600 Penn Ave. Where do you start?? Iraq, the Medicare fiasco, the Energy Bill, Korea, the upcoming prez elections... I can't seem to keep up.

I had to log on tonight to say that right now, I'm pretty wigged out about it all, and I don't consider myself an alarmist...

Sorry to be on such a downer right before Thanksgiving, but if Bush's domestic policies weren't bad enough, and they are (8.2% growth, wherever that came from, notwithstanding), this horrible mess in Iraq is just way beyond anything I could have contemplated after the Selection. I mean, I figured they would do the GOP rape and pillage of the American economy, that is SOP with these guys, but Geez, what in the hell are we doing in that desert?

You guys are always a great sanity check....

3. I debated the DU Lounge

but i read the rules again and figured since I was actually talking about miscellaneous politics instead of my two cats (and I say that in all seriousness, as I love the cat threads), I put it hear. I'll get the hang of the rules again one of these days.

But back to this Iraq thing...I see Jimmy Carter is basically saying "folks, we're not leaving for a long time", and that makes me ill, and then there is the "we have to get out by June so we can get Shrub re-elected" plan, which goes beyond making me ill....

Talk about "no way out", I think this is what trapped looks like.
