Religion and politics in the US, a Canadian perspective - CBC video |
|
http://media.cbc.ca:8080/ramgen/cbc.ca/national/real/thenational.rmFast forward to about 33:30 for the beginning of this segment. The segment after it on piracy in the Pacific ocean is rather interesting, too. This video link will work for about the next 24 hours.

1. That is absolutely chilling! |

That Richard Land took the church I grew up in and turned it into something almost evil. I almost wished I had not watched it. The SBC here supported the Iraq war as holy and just. We no longer belong, and I can not remember when this started.
Thanks for finding that. I have never been able to find the videos there easily.

I will try it daily. I will go to the site again and try to locate more. Haven't been there in a while anyway.

I watched this tonight, it made me shiver at how the un-Christian Right is taking over a country that is supposed to be a symbol of freedom and liberty.:freak:

6. Pathetic and sad in the same time. |

As European, and perhaps more as French, this program doesn't sit right with me. I don't believe in a real democracy when the theological values govern a country (Christian or any else).
The French TV made an inquiry on this issue three or four years ago. Shortly, the question was : could a President of USA be elected without talking about his solid and uncompromising christian faith ? Its showed the presidential runs since Eisenhower, and the evident answer has been : no.
