The real reason for Bush's secret trip to Iraq
HE WAS BEING UPSTAGED!!!

Hillary Rodham Clinton (news - web sites), center, poses with U.S soldiers, most from New York state, after a Thanksgiving dinner at the military base in Bagram, Afghanistan (news - web sites), Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003. I just saw this on the news and had to hop on to Lcom.

Wow.

This makes me very proud of my president, but I'm concerned for his safety.

Pray for his safety!

We have a great man in the White House.

God Bless President Bush. And God Bless America.

We have much to be thankful for, especially having President Bush in the White House.

Shit. What drugs can these people be doing to get so silly?

5. They MUST think she's going to run
There's no other reason that I can think of for Bush to go except to try and diffuse the situation.

That they still cling to the idea that she's running next year is amazing to me, and that they try to coordinate PR counterstrikes against her just shows how far up their asses their heads are.

We could be swearing a new president in Jan. 2005 and they would still cling to paranoid conspriacy theories that would conclude with her becoming president.

"Oh my god! If President _______ dies and then Vice President __________ dies and then Speaker of the House _______ dies and then x number of senators die, Hillary Clinton will be president! It's all coming true! Newsmax was right!!!"

It is not too much to imagine when a Dem wins in 2004 and tries to move into the WH, GW will cite some long forgotten homestead law and refuse to leave. He thinks that house belongs to him alone.

30. The Bushcos are now saying that this was planned back in October
Another obvious lie. I wish there was a way to sink this lie. You know as well as I do that this was not planned that far in advance because no one knew what the situation would be like today in Iraq, especially when in October the insurgents were kicking our butts on a daily basis.

if it was announced in advance then the locals might've prepared a 'welcoming party', maybe directing him towards the 11th floor of the al-Rashid hotel in Baghdad.

"Dubya, we got a big problem. That bitch from New York is over there with the troops and making you look like the chicken shit you are."

"Well, if they can get me in and not let anybody know, I might go in for a couple of hours. Maybe we can pull all the shades and turn the lights out as we approach? I'm so afraid Karl that I could just shit on myself...But if anybody finds out about it, I'm turning around and coming back to the ranch, OK?"

If ever a see through manuever was made, it was the the flying monkey going to Baghdad.

Rove is not a genius. Only the really dumbest of the proganada dupes will see this as grand. A reasonable person would see this for what it was: a stunt aimed at people sitting around at Thanksgiving seeing the chimp pissing away money on a stunt.

Mission accomplished? If you want to appear as a chicken hit and run bullcrapper. Yeah Mission Complete, but unaccomplished.

Meanwhile the chimp is whisked in and out in 2 hours, so KKKarl can have some more photos for fundraising from the fatcats.

22. Here is why Bush really went to Baghdad. Just reported on CNN.
He went there to strong arm Ali al-Sistani.
http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/11/27/sprj.irq.main/index.html
Also Thursday, the head of the Iraqi Governing Council met Thursday with a top Shiite leader to discuss the cleric's disagreement with the latest plan to transfer sovereignty from the U.S.-led coalition to the Iraqis.

Jalal Talabani, the council head, met in Najaf with Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, who complained about loopholes in the plan, focusing on what he called the lack of grass-roots Iraqi voter participation and the lack of Islamic influence in the constitution.

The transition plan -- announced earlier this month by the coalition-picked Governing Council -- calls for regional caucuses to pick a national assembly by the end of May.

The assembly is to choose a transitional government by the end of June. Sovereignty would be transferred from the coalition to Iraqis in July. The constitution would be written and democratic elections would be held by the end of 2005.

Sistani's views are important since Shiites represent 60 percent of Iraq's population, and his objections could thwart efforts to gain widespread support for transitional plans.

The discussions came as the U.S.-led coalition and the council try to restore stability in the face of daily guerrilla attacks and credibility to the U.S.-led efforts at nation-building.

27. Brilliant
Hillary looks real good.(compare to the vacant, little girl, frump-o-lump) She does, indeed, look great, intelligent, concerned and serious. Hillary does have what it takes to run for president of the US. That Bush had to siddenly jump on AF1, pretend it was kept secret for security reasons, to try to pre-empt Hillary, who was upstaging him, says a lot. His reaction reeks of desperation and fear--I would hope that HIllary has enough savvy to fend off Rove and his minions and give them all a run for their money. This trip will add a lot to Hillary's resume. It is not, however the first time she has travelled in support of people who are in a precarious position.

She looks wonderful.

29. Our troops in Afghanistan are in trouble and need support, too
Dark cloud looming on the horizon. I cannot express my appreciation enough for Hillary. Grace under pressure. First class all the way. And as for supporting the war in Iraq and/or Afghanistan because she visits the troops there, well, she knew she would be dissed and smeared because of it but she went anyway, not like "turkey boy" and his little trick to improve the polls.

That's the difference, Hillary does what is right even when she knows she will get blasted in the press. bush seldom does what is right and gets a free ride either way. Go figure.

Anyway, follow the leader, bush. Follow the leader.
