1. The majority of America...
voted for a man similar to that. Don't worry, northern buddy, the world will regain it's sanity eventually.

2. Bill's right, Canada did the right thing in remaining 'sane' throughout
this whole ordeal. "Amerika" was not right to invade Iraq, and I respect Canada for taking a stand.

4. I told my class up here in Canada today ...
... about the multilateral "partnership" approach favoured by Clinton/Gore, and contrasted it with the PNAC approach of Cheney and Co., which would involve the US using everything at its disposal to prevent other countries from ever becoming potential rivals. And that the latter seems dangerously close to making the US into an imperial power -- contrary to the wishes of many Americans -- and that it would mean gutting the Constitution and altering foreign policy ... well, basically in the same direction chosen by Bush's people.

I begged them not to believe that all Americans want this kind of world -- and mentioned the names of many, like the Dixie Chicks, who are taking considerable risk in fighting against the rise of dictatorship.

5. Hopefully...
... President Clark and Prime Minister Martin will get along just as well.
