The Gross Unfairness Of It All.
I worry about the task that a democratic winner faces in trying to fix the mess that George Bush has created. It's grossly unfair.

When you look at what Bill Clinton left for George to work with, and then compare it with what Bush is creating for the next guy, it makes me want to hurl. Clinton left Bush with a no lose situation whereas Bush will be leaving his succesor with a no-win situation.

I hate to say it, but if Bush wins in '04 it will be hard for me to say that we don't deserve the asshole, since we are so ignorant and arrogant. I'm still having trouble believing that americans forsook a great surplus, great employment, everything going right for a change, for some unknown quantity. (Actually, it was a known quantity - a loser) I don't get it. Even if the jerk stole the election, it's still shameful the number of people who voted for him. Why change from prosperity? How stupid can you be?

2. Thanks. I needed that.
Now I know the magnitude of the problem.

3. Bush Can Run, But ...
Bush can run, but he can't hide from his own record. The stupid contentment of the electorate can't last .... sooner or later these ignoramuses will realize that they've got something at stake in these November events we call elections. Bush's record of failure and destruction is bound to catch up to him. Ya gotta believe!

4. I hope you're right, but it seems as long as americans have
their beer, popcorn and tv, we will remain utterly stupid.

5. Come on!
Sure, most people don't care. They haven't for some time.

Only half of those eligible are registered to vote. Only half of those registered vote in Presidential elections, less in non-presidential years.

So what? We have to deal with the same reality the repubs do. We have to convince more than half of those who do vote, or recruit enough new voters to make a majority of those voting.

Unfair? Sure it is. Life is unfair. We can cry about it until ten years from next Wednesday, or we can get out tomorrow and do something.

The choice is ours. I'm working.

6. That's what adults are for...
To clean up after the fratboy parties.

This one is a doozy.
