Flight Suit, Part Deux.
Watching the repeat of "Bozo Goes to Baghdad" on CNN live right now, just shaking my head. Nice photo-op, quite a coup, Rove, all props to ya. I mean that. Hey man, nice shot.

So fun to exploit America and Americans on their day of Thanksgiving. It stirs the blood, while reeking of Hillary catch-up.

Ever the cynical girl,
Jennifer

Rove: It'll play great in the heartland. The media will dub it "Shock and Awe."

1. And the preselected audience was great too!
Ever noticed that Bush only appears before massively supportive audiences? There is a definite reason for it; it encourages imitative behavior on the part of home viewers: "Oh, look, they love him! He must be a great President!"

I wonder if there was a "free-speech zone" during Bush's visit...

Dubya wouldn't have it any other way! :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:
I'm stationed in Korea, and last week Rummy was here to spew his garbage. I could have gone to the speech, but I have more important things to do...like gouge my eyes out with a rusty nail!
If I was in Iraq and Dubya showed up, I would've left. It just burns me up to see someone who's AWOL as our Commander in Thief.

8. So I guess it would be safe to say
you won't be voting for Bu$h in the next election?

I sure hope there are many more like you in the service. Maybe they won't want to count those absentee ballots next time around.

2. But not so good as the Lincoln landing
That's one ugly jacket and it's at least two sizes too big for him.

If it weren't for the ARMY label and patches, it would look like Babs' pyjamas.

And it makes him look like a midget.

5. Dear General Clark:
Thank you for pointing out that Bush is a lazy bastard for not visiting the troops or honoring the war dead. However, Rove has taken this dirty little makeup task and staged, once again, a campaign ad. It's time for you to point out a few things again to rankle this administration. I've provided a list for you:

1. Bush takes no chances. The man is so unpopular they couldn't even inform the people who are given the charge of "running" the country we supposedly "freed" that his greatness is coming.

2. Although the base where Bush was seemed to have adequate food and turkey was on the menu, how many troops across Iraq are still eating their meals from those syrofoam trays that don't need to be warmed up.

3. Bush still hasn't performed the difficult task. Yes it's easy for the President to appear before a bunch of kids from small towns who never thought they would meet the President of the United States and are awed - but what about those parents, spouses and children of loved ones coming home in a box? Somehow I think they wouldn't be so easily awed.

So here is just a starting list for you General, or you Governor Dean to impress upon the American public.

6. It was shameless.
But I think it will only serve to shore up his base and not change the perception of people who were already leaning against him on Iraq. I actually think they made a mistake bringing in the cameras. If you really wanted to shore up your base and possibly bring some people back to your side the best thing to have done would have been a completely secret trip without the media and cameras. Then when people found out about it, which of course they would, they would say, "look this was entirely for the troops, there was no political motivation", this thought would be wrong, but people would say it and believe it. As it is, it is too easily dismissed as what it was, a well orchestrated photo op, or as you called it "flight suit, part deux."

It worked on my republican relatives though - they thought it was great. "just what the troops needed." Maybe what the troops need is a President who doesn't use them for photo ops and encourage the use of them as targets for our enemies. :grr:

7. Perhaps I missed something ....
... but I haven't seen any coverage of him accompanying a patrol in the streets of Baghdad being welcomed by throngs of pacified and grateful Iraqis while saying "Bring 'em on!" to the crowds.

2 hours and 32 minutes ... that's about the same demonstration of 'commitment' he showed to the TANG in the early 70's. (Has he been drug tested yet?)

9. The "turkey on a serving platter" photo is as phony as Dumbya
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it was carried to Iraq on Air Force 1. Makeup (for the turkey) was likely applied by Rove's Hollywood contingent.

10. A few observations...
The first thing I noticed, were the colors on the stage. These were Divisional Colors, insterspersed with numerous flags indicating General Officers. For anyone who has been in the military, you know, there was no one in that crowd that wasn't on a staff, regardless of rank.

This is no Omar Bradley. Bradley, as a Major General, Lt General, Full General, and General of the Army; went out to the lines to see what was going on, and get first hand information. Bradley wold go out to listening posts, and foxholes to see how the men were fairing. In one instance, he took dinner to some soldiers on guard duty because they had been forgotten. This was a leader, a soldiers General.

I will hate myself for saying this, but I will give bush credit for going to Iraq. His motives were purely political, and he will try to make political hay out of this; but for the first time, he actually showed some form of decency...but not enough. Let us not forget, he first ran away on 9-11; he didn't have a clue how to deal with the situation, (nothing new there), and he is shameless in using AF One fotfundraisers, (at $57,000 an hr of OUR money).

In all, I would have been impressed if bush would have gone on a patrol with a squad from th 4th ID.

;kick:
