3. I think it is within the rights of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
To insist that Bush report for an immediate psych eval.

This is either misdemeanor level irresponsibility or deranged behavior. In fact, you might argue that it is both. Bush is bucking for a medical discharge as CinC.

4. According to the article...
"Bush then worked the entire room and dished out--but did not sit down to eat--sweet potatoes and corn from the chow line."

In other words, Bush couldn't convince his five approved culinarians to travel to a war zone.

The room contained about 600 troops from the 1st Armored Division and the 82nd Airborne Division. I know they probably spent weeks trying to find 600 people who didn't want to shoot the son-of-a-bitch. Right about now, that's probably all that are left. They also had to work hard to find guys who could be counted on not to pull out photos from their wallets: "Mr. President, I'd like you to have this picture of Specialist Barnes, Sergeant Harris and myself. Specialist Barnes was killed when his Humvee drove past a command-detonated mine. Sergeant Harris was killed when the Chinook he was riding in was shot down. And I'm wondering when my turn is coming. By the way, why haven't you attended a funeral? Why haven't you been to Dover when the bodies arrive on the C-17s? Why isn't your vice-president's company supplying us with water?"

It also said that not even George the Elder knew Dubya was planning this trip.

5. Secret trip, yet
the entire world knows about it. If they wanted it to be secret, why all the photo-ops and press coverage? What a scumbag!!

7. This photo
is all over the place (front page Philly Inquirer also). It's obviously the best one they got. But I don't see it as all that great for Bush.

Leaving aside the fact that he looks weak-jawed and wierdly disengaged, most of the people around him seem to be trying to ignore him. This is not a picture of a bunch of soldiers enthusiastically swarming around their beloved leader.

9. I watched the speech on C-Span
and I didn't think the audience response sounded entirely positive. Coulda sworn I heard a few boos in there. Well, maybe it was just wishful thinking on my part. Why more people can't see through this asshole is beyond me.
