Remember the man who got fired for shaking Clark's hand?
You can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat the people who work for them and the loyalty they inspire. Try reading this story of Eric Massa's http://www.cmonitor.com/stories/news/politics2003/112703clark_guy_2003.shtml

When Massa left Clark in 1999 it was under protest and only because Massa had been diagnosed with advanced cancer. Now, years later, Massa - recovered and retired from the Navy - is working for Clark's army again, this time as a campaign staffer trying to get Clark elected to the White House.

Massa wasn't looking for the job this time, either. Clark asked

him to come on board after learning a month ago that Massa had "involuntarily resigned" from his government job at the urging of Republican bosses. They were upset that Massa had visited Clark at a Democratic campaign event.

"They said I was a political liability and that if I liked Wes Clark so much I should go work for him," Massa said. A lifelong Republican, Massa just re-registered as a Democrat.

Or read the stories of one of Clark's most loyal campaigners in Arizona - Cris Hernandez from his own Blog http://cris.forclark.com/ Hernandez was Clark's Security Officer in Kosovo. Very compelling reading. Here is a quote from one of his Blogs

The question I was always asked; and still asked when people find out I was his PSO, "would you take a bullet for General Clark?" You're damn right I would, all his security officers would. General Clark put it on the line everyday! Fear did not intimidate the boss. He went were he wanted to go. He was not reckless, but he knew how to handle himself. Our security team knew if we encountered in a fire fight, our boss would be directing a counter assault. We knew that boss would want to stay and fight! No evacuation for the General. The "Captain" in General Clark was alive and well!

These stories are so much more compelling than the smears of jealous Generals like Shelton. I don't see the press giving these stories equal time. To do so they would have to print and reprint and broadcast and rebroadcast them how many times?

1. And Gen. Clark
if he were President, would have gone to Iraq in the daylight and really talked to the troops, not making it a two hour photo op for his upcoming campaign.

2. While I deplore Bush's Thanksgiving Photo-Op
I disagree that Clark would have been able to go in broad daylight. The President as Commander-in-Chief does not have the right to place himself in harm's way. Clark would want to behave as Harrison Ford's character did in the Air Force One movie. It is his nature. But the Secret Service would never allow it. They would be right.

4. Clark would be able to go to Iraq
and anywhere else in broad daylight because Iraq wouldn't be in the mess it's in if he was in charge.

3. the story of massa
speaks volumes about the heart and soul of republicans at large.
foul, phony, and backstabbing are three descriptives that leap to mind.
