A Conservative Columnist Criticizes Right Wing Congress

Maybe the "true" conservatives are finally starting to actually look at the deficits. Of course, I disagree with him about putting the "defense" spending in an untouchable category, and other issues. But, the point is, maybe conservatives are actually going to start being a bit more critical.

1. More
None other than Bob Novak had a column about the blackmail and harrassment committed in the House to get the Medicare bill through.

3. The difference between Dems and Repubs is :
The Dems spend money on social programs and pay for it with tax revenue. The Repubs spend money on corporate welfare and pay for it by borrowing money. Sooner or later the borrowing will have to be paid back by raising taxes and if the voters keep the Repubs in power it is they who will have to raise taxes or cut their corporate welfare and that will end up cutting their throats.

Today people like Cal Thomas cannot blame the Dems for this because the Dems are not in power.

4. "Cannot Blame Dems..."
That's true, Mountain Man, but.......

Several of the Dems have been voting with the right wing, which is what is soooooo revolting! Many of them seemed to have decided to vote completely for the Corporate Welfare State. sigh....

Otherwise, I agree completely with your assessment, and wish that I could put things as succinctly as that!
Great wording!
