"Bring 'Em On" Redux
Nobody knows for sure what it is like to stand in another man's shoes. We cannot know how humiliating it might have been for many Iraqi citizens to hear that Dubya had stealthily slipped into their country to celebrate a holiday with the invading troops. Just as we could not know how the Iraqis took the challenge from Bush a few months ago when he said, "bring 'em on".

A thoughtful person might deduce that this stunt will have a similar impact on those Iraqis that are presently rebelling against the American invasion. If we could put ourselves in the Iraqi's shoes, we might ask, how wise was this decision to visit Baghdad? Was this like a slap in the face to the Iraqi people? Despite all the worshipful comments from the American media, there might yet be reactions and consequences from this arrogant stunt that will only make it more deadly and difficult for the troops that remain in Baghdad after Dubya has flown back to his farm.

4. Thanks janx.
Ignorance can get us all killed and when we have ignorant leaders, who knows what consequences might follow?

3. I can see your point.
That trip could be seen as the height of arrogance. We conquered your ass, and we can even slip our leader into your country.

Of course, we'll be seeing footage from that trip in campaign ads. But...what exactly did that trip really accomplish? Bush went in there, said the same damn thing he's been saying, that we'll stay there no matter what, and left.

He could have made the same remarks at the White House.
