Dean and Kucinich Were The Only Ones to show up at Youth Forum
Among America’s Youth
2 SHS sophomores query presidential candidates at forum

BY STANLEY DANKOSKI >>>

Students in Diane Brooks-Sherry’s American Studies classes have been catching up on the presidential campaign all semester, researching the issues and preparing questions for the nine men and woman seeking the nomination to be the Democratic presidential candidate.

<snip>

The America’s Youth Forum was held last Thursday at St. Anselm College in Goffstown, and only two of the candidates — former Vt. Gov. Howard Dean and Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio — made their presence known.

<snip>

Mawby, who had been following the campaign off and on through the news, said it was disappointing that not all candidates showed up. The event, which was sponsored by USA Today and the N.H. Institute of Politics, would have helped her get a better sense of who she would have voted for, she said. Although she’s not old enough to vote, she said she thinks she would have leaned toward the other candidates who were absent.

1. When Dean wins the nomination and the presidency
it will be due to the "youth" vote.

2. yeah, that's why Dean's been working hard to reach youth voters
and not taking them for granted.

3. My two favorites....
...I knew they wouldn't let me down.

These guys know that the youth vote propelled Clinton. The rest are looking for Clinton's friends to propel them instead of actual voters, sadly.

4. Dean ranks 5th overall in electability
Edited on Fri Nov-28-03 05:26 PM by _Jumper_
Edwards is only 1% behind him despite getting virtually no press coverage. Whatever Dean and Kucinich are doing will not be enough for them to win the general election.

6. Clark ranks first in electability
Obviously he is doing a better job appealing to the American people than the other candidates.

8. That poll reflects only a fraction of the electorate
Edited on Fri Nov-28-03 05:35 PM by _Jumper_
Poll after poll that includes the entire electorate shows him doing the best against Bush. Surely you do not deny this.

11. No poll right now....
....has any specific Dem defeating Bush.

Therefore, wouldn't they ALL be ranked "Zero" on a list of electability??

17. No, but there is a huge difference between being 7% behind and...
...being in Goldwater territory.

Clark did lead Bush in a September poll. Only Clark and Kerry have outpolled Shrub.

23. LOL
I didn't realize pollingreport merely listed results of other polls. I was under the impression they did their own polling. Given Dean's strong showing in recent polls, I will drop my objection to him. As long as he is electable I do not have a problem with him. I just want Shrub out of the White House.

the fact that pollingreport.com list results of other polls make it a less credible citation?

At pollingreport.com he is tied for 3rd with Liberman, and is only 1% ahead of both Gephardt and Edwards. A poll posted recently showed Dean 15% behind Bush and 5th.
