19. WOW!!! I read the transcript. Now I know why Trent Lott is finished.

Moyers is right. The media-RW-Bushadministration conblomerate is a powerful cancer on democracy that must be stopped. (my words).
I wondered why the off the cuff racist Thurmond comments would have been so bad as to have side-lined Lott the way he has been. But after reading the Moyers speech I see now that it wasn't those snide racist comments that did Lott in (afterall, that never side-lined any "good ole' boys in the past). It was his opposition to the FCC-Powell move to permit further media conglomeration and his opposition to the further Berlusconization of US media. Now you know how powerful these people are, Lott has been muzzled and side-lined. REALLY SCARY!!

DUers, we must do more to support those organizations that are fighting to help preserve our dying democracy. This speech by Moyers should be given to all your high school and college students. We have got to begin to wean them away from propaganda machines that eat away at their critical thinking skills. Please help!
