A Cargo plane plane filled with Chemicals will be hijacked and crashed into something causing an attack more "spectacular" than 911. As a result, mass media will declare that the American expirament of Democracy is finally a failure and we will throw out the Constitiution in favor of a military form of government.

I will defend the constitution and the values it stands for to the last. But my loyalty is to my country and my fellow citizens, not to my government or its military. If it were announced that that constitution were to be scrapped, I'm sure that I wouldn't be the only counter-revolutionary out to crush a coup. Being technologically and militarily literate, it wouldn't be too hard to develop heavy ordinance and to manufacture large amounts of it. I'm sure that without question, any revolutionary neocon military force would see no end in heavy rain. Let there be no doubt that liberals do have a sense of patriotism, if not larger than neocons, since it is based on the very soul of our country's ideals. 8. hmmm, I wonder.

What "freedoms" are they, exactly, that so many millions of Americans "love"? I think the events of the past 25 years prove that, above all, Americans are scared to death of freedom. Way back in 1969, Dennis Hopper said as much in his script Easy Rider. Jack Nicholson's character proclaims that Americans will give lip service to freedom, but as soon as they come face-to-face with it they freak out. This is just before he's beaten to death with baseball bats simply because he rides around with long-hairs. Today it's easy to see that his observation was correct, with the fear so thick it masks the fog in LA.

Americans, by and large, have never really embraced freedom. The Sixties Counterculture movement was an attempt to show what true freedom looks like, and where is that today? Buried under an avalanche of conservative oppression--with 50% of the polls still saying they think this is peachy keen. This was not done in secret; the Republicans have been proclaiming their intent to "take back the country" since at least 1980. If 2000 was an outrage, 2002 was a death-knoll, because it was done with eyes open, when the danger was clear and present.

I struggle against this wave of hatred for a Democracy that never really was, but which I hope can one day genuinely be implemented.

These details are coming from detainees. Detainees with every reason to give their captors vast amounts of information, whether true or not.

9. There is no doubt that Tommy Franks was threatening you

He in fact wants a military dictatorship. There is also no doubt that in the event of a real terrorist attack Bush would be a gonner! There is no reason to have such an incompetant human in the whitehouse if he doesn't protect us from terrorism. He was trying to present Bush as a defender of the republic when Bush is really the opposite. He was trying to claim the Patriot act is preserving the republic.

First marshal law would be declared in the cities which were "attacked". Then all infected with a biological agent would be killed...women, men, and children, nobody would be allowed in or out of the "zones of attack." Then panick and rage would quickly spread throughout the country. Americans pissed at shrub for doing nothing would start rioting in the Capitol, and people would demand to see their loved ones in the zoned off cities. Things would get violent...Congress would be adjourned early because of the riots. Then shrub would be advised by Frank and others to put D.C. under marshal law...no Senator, Congressman, or Judge would be allowed to leave for their "personal safety." After this, demonstrators in the capitol would be rounded up and shot.

Then a disaster happens, an explosion occurs where all the Congressmen, Senators, and Supreme Court Justices were being "protected." Shrub will announce the disaster to the country, and describe how the terrorists organized the attack. Then he will drop the bomb, now that there is no longer a Congress to make laws or a Supreme court to rule on cases...the U.S. Constitution shall be suspended until further notice. At this point shrub will appoint military governors to supervise in non-Republican states...while Republican enemies will be assassinated. And the press and all Democrats will be rounded up for being "unwitting facilitators" to terrorism, and we shall never hear about them again! :evilfrown:

I don't remember Franks referring to Clinton as a "Great American Hero." Nor do I remember him suggesting that a terrorist attack would require suspending the Constitution, when Clinton was President. I do remember freepers slamming Clinton for having no "exit strategy" and engaging us in those small "Democratic Wars" which reminded them so much of Vietnam...but I don't listen to freepers much anymore, my wish is to maintain some sanity in this neo-con era.

All they would do is remove "habeas corpus" and put citizens who are not "with us" in detention/internment camps until the eternal war is over. A quick sweep of dawn raids on every opponent would seal the coup, and leave them with all appearances that democracy was still functioning... as by the laws, they would keep the whole disappearances secret and only in 50 years would they discover that it happened. In one's worst imaginings of a successful nazi germany that was not defeated, would the holocaust ever have come to light?
