Does anyone read Foreign Affairs ?

I saw it in a local newstand today but since i'm not familiar with it's political/ideological stance I decided to hold off on buying it. Is it considered a liberal or conservative publication ? Is it a quality magazine/journal worth reading ?

1. FA=CFR Publication
Go to the library or online, before buying. (CFR-Council on Foreign Relations)
Try Foreign Policy Online, seems to be a more subjective publication, IMO.

2. Agreed
FA is good, but sometimes can be hit or miss. FP is probably a little better, IMHO

4. New World Order Elites
IMO, but hey you check out their history and who sits on their board, or vist their website. Think Neo Cons on steroids.

10. not neocons
The CFR is a policy thinktank and operation that represents US imperialism and monopoly capitalism. They were created by establishment big money sycophants long before the neocon faction was formed as a Straussian neo-fascist tendency allied with the BFEE political operation. It might be useful to read Foreign Affairs as a guide to how they are strategizing and spinning, but not as an independent voice.

Interestingly, the sponsored the Hart-Rudman analysis of terrorism that presents a rather severe critique of the insane "jes kill 'em all" policy that is now in force.

5. The CFR...
The CFR pretty much decides the foreign policy of the United States. All the most notable elites are members.

FA is worth reading, if only to know what's going through their collective head at the moment.

9. I don't think CFR is currently pulling the reins on things.
Only the most extreme of their members. CFR tends to contain a pretty broad spectrum of views - but does consist of the 'power elite'. The range - leaves it being pretty centrist or a tad right of centrist. Or at least in the definitions used before Cheney got into the ear of the presidency. In today's recalibrated terms - the CFR is more likely to sound like cautious, nervous nellies... not bold in critiques (can't be too controversial) but increasingly nervous about where the neocons are trying to take the country. These are interesting times, indeed.

7. in these times... old conservatism, in international affairs
appears moderate... and at times thoughtful. All due to the shifting sands due to the power currently given to the neocons. I used to periodically read both foreign affairs and foreign policy (back in the reagan/bush years and early bush1.) Found both to be informative, but was aware of the slight philosophical bend. The tone of both is somewhat academic. I understand (meant to get but didn't) that one (I think Foreign Policy) had a scathing issue in September of the bush policies in Iraq and in general.
