You should know by now my feelings about JFK.
I feel that I must say this to those of you who are under 45-50 and only remember LBJ, Nixon. Or if you are under thirty, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton and the Usurper.
You may have seen documentaries and/or read about JFK. But you didn't live through his Presidency. You cannot truly appreciate who he was unless you lived through his time.
He had real press conferences. The press actually asked him unscripted questions. And he answered them all. No bullshit. No lies. The buck stopped at his desk. Read about the Bay of Pigs.
Read about the Cuban Missile crisis. He saved the world from the Armaggeddon Bush is likely to bring about in his unending wars for oil and hegemony.
Read about Operation Northwoods. JFK would not go along with the Joint Chiefs and their plans to sacrifice Americans for an invasion of Cuba.
Read about his committment to science (the Moon Project), to integration (University of Alabama/George Wallace), to the unions, to social security.
I was 17 when he was elected. Trust me, he was the real deal. He made us proud. His wit, intelligence, charisma, graciousness, fairness and bravery were unique. I may be repeating stuff you have heard about. But it's all too true.
Most of you only know of Reagan and the Bushes, incompetents in comparison to JFK. You have all missed out on true greatness.
Sure, Clinton was good. And he could have been great. But the Repukes went after him from Day One. That was Poppy Bush's doing. And the press went along with the destruction of his presidency. They let the Repukes defile the office. It wasn't Clinton. It was the evil bunch who are in power now. They are the ones who made C**k a household word. May they forever be dammned.
Sure, JFK was a womanizer. But the press let him alone. They loved him. And they knew that his weakness for the ladies was his own business. Because they knew he cared about America even more than he cared about sex. And that's really all that should matter, right?
In those days, the most conservative, right-wing Republican was Barry Goldwater. But unlike the right-wing bastards today, Barry was a true patriot. Believe it when I tell you that JFK and BG respected each other. They looked forward to the election as a means of educating the American people on both liberal and conservative philosophies. Because there is something to be said for each. Each has its merits.
Both of these patriots would be more than appalled at what America has become. For all intents and purposes, fascism has come to America. The press abdicated its role as watchdog. Just as the Supreme Court did. And now its reputation is forever soiled since Bush vs. Gore turned out to be just another name for Judicial Coup.
I guarantee that if Barry Goldwater and JFK were alive today, they would each be doing everything in their power to get Bush out of there, before he did any further damage to the nation.
Just like it was when Goldwater finally walked into Nixon's office and told him that it was all over. He had to leave. And he did far less damage than Bush has done.
Once again, trust me. Nixon was a saint compared to Bush.
