the blowhard who said this crap started out by saying how misinformed the LIBerals are, and how they lie about everything, especially the alleged AWOL stuff. He asserted that, had chimpboy been AWOL, certainly some of his CO's would've said so. Guess had hasn't heard about Turnipseed, or the others in that unit who put up the REWARD for anyone who can prove they saw him on duty.......anyway.
after that, he said Bush was testing planes that hadn't been certified, or something similar, for flight in VietNam. not secret planes, just some completely made-up crap about planes that hadn't been cleared for VietNam. Love to hear where he got that.
Probably, in his delusional state, he got confused with the fact that the plane on which he was trained had already been declared outmoded for combat, and he made a conscious choice to fly that plane, and not upgrade to one in which he could've been summoned away from the dangers of protecting Padre Island from the Cubans.
Certainly someone here has the details on his plane (F-102?), but it was for sure not used in VietNam while he was not doing whatever he was supposed to be doing during that blank period.
now, how funny is this.....from 1999
"...the Dallas Morning News, which also looked into Bush's military record, reported that while Bush's unit in Texas had a waiting list for many spots, he was accepted because he was one of a handful of applicants willing and qualified to spend more than a year in active training flying F-102 jets."

"Among the questionable claims in Mr. Bush's autobiography is that he tried to volunteer for service in Vietnam "to relieve active-duty pilots." He did not volunteer for service in Vietnam; in fact, he failed to report for duty in his Air National Guard Unit and skipped off to Alabama to work on a political campaign.
In his book, Mr. Bush offers a lovely-sounding (but bald-faced) lie to describe his F-102 fighter pilot experience:
"I continued flying with my unit for the next several years," he writes, but in fact he was suspended from flight duty in August 1972 and didn't fly at all for the last two years of his service. (He also didn't show up for duty.)" oh that little bit.....funny that he just "forgot."
here's a very good, succinct, sort of, summary of this buffoon's nauseating "service" record, including evidence of falsification, as well as comparisons with service of other politicians:
http://www.talion.com/georgebush.htmland here's a site that goes through all the planes this creep flew during his training and "active" duty:
http://www.seanet.com/~johnco/bush102.htmthey consist of the following:
T-41A
T-38
T-33A
and finally, the F-102A
these are the only planes to which he had access, and his wing, the
147th Fighter/Interceptor Group, flew ONLY the F-102, in its various configs
also, according to his service timeline, by the time he began flying the F-102A, he began flight training on this plane in December of 1969, and, gee whiz, shortly thereafter, guess what amazing coincidence took place?
Bush's fighter group, the 147th, "came off runway alert on Jan. 1, 1970 to start a new mission: training all F-102 pilots in the United States for the Air National Guard."
