Two articles, refuting a lot of what the Bush Administration has been saying. And it's coming from CentCom, not some reporter working for the Post or the Guardian. Amazing how that works.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Ninety-eight coalition troops died in Iraq this month, making November the deadliest month yet for U.S.-led troops in Iraq, according to coalition military officials.

The U.S. commander in Iraq said Saturday attacks on coalition troops are down by 30 percent -- but an al Qaeda link to them has not been confirmed.

"At this time, we've not conclusively established an al Qaeda" connection, said U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, head of ground forces. "We firmly believe that there are links both financial and training and operational links that are present, but still haven't made that connection."

There is no evidence that al-Qaida terrorists have taken part in the long string of attacks on U.S. or Iraqi targets, but some U.S.-trained Iraqi police appear to have coordinated some of those assaults, the top U.S. military official in Iraq said Saturday.

U.S. military officials are concerned that some attacks on Americans have been coordinated by a few of the numerous Iraqi civilians hired by the U.S. military, who may glean intelligence on troop movements and travels of high-ranking officers, Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez told reporters at the Baghdad Convention Center.
